Overall, our vacation was wonderful. Our granddaughter’s wedding was beautiful. The only hiccup in the whole process was that everything took longer than expected, so at the reception room no one had time for the cake to be served, so the cake was placed in a box and sent with the bride and groom.

WEATHER: Despite Hurricane Ike, we only had two heavy thunderstorms in the late afternoon. We attended MNSSHP without rain, and also saw Wishes and Illuminations without rain. Weather was just great during our stay.

RESORT: We stayed at PORFQ and liked it. Food court was okay and “mousekeeping” not great, but acceptable. We’re going back to PORFQ next year.

TRANSPORTATION: Overall, the bus service was okay. However, there were two days that there were problems. One of the bus drivers was extremely rude and was reported to the PORFQ front desk. Several passengers complained to the front desk. The driver told one of the passengers that if he didn’t like the bus service to catch a taxi. The ferry transportation to Downtown Disney was great.

RESTAURANTS:

We would never go back to the Maya Grill at Coronado Springs. The waitress was fantastic, but our meals took almost an hour, and we were the first ones in the restaurant when it opened. When the food arrived, the steaks were not hot and the rib-eye steaks were very tough. None of us could eat the steaks. We only took about two bites and didn’t finish our meals. Our DD spoke with the manager, and he didn’t charge us for the meals. Because we had a good waitress, she was tipped despite the terrible dinner. After all, it wasn’t her fault. The chef was not very nice to the waitress.

The best meal we had was at Teppan Edo. Everyone in our group loved the food and service. Be prepared, you will be seated at a table with other people. We were fortunate to be seated with a couple and their two children who were very pleasant and well behaved. It is definitely on our list for next year.

I do not recommend large groups when making dinner reservations for any of the restaurants. We varied from 5 to 8 people. When we had 8 people, we had to wait about a half-hour past our reservation time just to be seated.

This is a new resturant, I never heard of
Teppan Edo
Is it in Japan?

I am staying at POR and we always walk over to the French Quarter for Baguette's. I don't know if we will this year, since I can't eat fried food anymore.

Any pictures?

Sounds like a great trip and congratulations to your granddaughter on her marriage!

In reply to OhMari - Teppan Edo is in Japan. We ate there in February and loved it. The name of the restaurant changed from Teppanyaki Dining Room to Teppan Edo last year, I believe. It is in the same building as Tokyo Dining. Absolutely best food ever! :woohoo:

I'm going through the photos today. However, we had some problems with our camera, so we didn't get very many pictures.

heaven2dc has already responded to your inquiry about Teppan Edo. I couldn't have explained it better. :thumbsup2

Forgot to mention that we tried Wolfgang Puck Express. The chips were so stale that they were like soft and chewey cookies. All four of us didn't care for the food either. We'll stick with the Earl of Sandwich.

Has anyone eaten at Wofgang Puck Express? If so, what did you think of it? I could see if I were the only one who didn't like it - but all four of us? :rolleyes1
