From the WDW Web Site:

After a visual inspection of the entire Disney World property, only minor roof damage to a single backstage structure and minimal horticultural damage was discovered. Disney will open the following theme parks and other locations on Monday, September 6:

Magic Kingdom - 9:00 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Epcot - 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Typhoon Lagoon - 10 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Downtown Disney - 10 a.m. - 11:00 p.m.
Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex - Open for Events
Disney's Animal Kingdom - 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Disney-MGM Studios - 9:00 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Blizzard Beach - 10 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Pleasure Island - Closed

Crazy, Just curious, where on the WDW web site did you find this info? I have been looking and cannot seem to find any updates like this.

Sounds like the website has not been updated.

The only places open today at WDW are the MK, Epcot, WWOS, and the DTD Marketplace.

www.disneyworld.com's calendar shows both MGM and AK to be closed today...Monday Sept. 6th. Hope that helps. The other two are open according to the site, but again, this is the official calendar on the WDW website, check it for yourself to be sure, but that's what showed up for me.

The local tv news here in Orlando said that MGM and AK are closed today because they are short on staff and not because of damage.

MGM is closed.
AK is closed.
PI is closed.
Blizzard Beach is closed.

Are they really just short on staff or does anyone know of any other damage?

Good news for those at WDW now.::yes:: :wave2:

Monday, SEPTEMBER 6th - Walt Disney World Resort safely withstood Hurricane Frances and maintained power throughout the storm. After a visual inspection of the entire property, we discovered only minor roof damage to a single backstage structure and minimal horticultural damage.

I don't know where the op got their info. It was posted on the cast member portal last night at 7 pm that AK and MGM would not be open today. On the cast emergency line they even told some entertainment cms from MGM not to report as there would be no shows due to the park being closed.

I saw the same thing on a popup on disneyworld.com last night around 9:00pm. I posted it but when I tried it a little later it wasn't coming up and the calendars said MGM & AK closed, so I deleted the info, thinking the info that safari steve posted was the current. The popup showed the info was as of 6:00pm last night, so I guess they changed their minds shortly after that but did not take the popup down.
