We use the buses almost every trip and have been very pleased. We've never had an issue, and out longest wait has been no more than 30 minutes. I would say our average wait time is 10 - 15 minutes at most.

This is our 3rd Thanksgiving at SSR and I will say the longest we had to wait for a bus this trip so far was at AKV(dinner at Jiko) for a DTD bus, about 18 minutes.

Longest wait for a resort to park bus, was Sat. at Epcot about 15 minutes.

I've been rather pleased with the bus service this trip, but remember a lot of it is luck. Walked out of the Contemporary(had dinner at Cali Grill and watched Wishes) and a DTD bus had just pulled up!

When we lived in PA we used the buses for years with no problems. Actually enjoyed it because many of the bus drivers were great entertainers in their own right.

But after my wife needed a wheelchair we found the bus service inconvenient -- this after several mishaps with equipment malfunctions that left us stranded either at the bus stop or on the bus. We then started renting cars.

Now we take our own car since we live here in Orlando.

We usually rent a car for resort to resort and off-site dining so we have a car available, but for transportation to the parks we pretty much always use the WDW transportation. Sometimes it's better than others, but usually acceptable.

I use the busses and I think its great. I also use public transit to get to work at home, so I know things can go wrong. I like the bus transportation (and the boats and monorails) also because I like to have 1 or 2 drinks with dinner, and Disney drives me home, for free. If you think about it, they have the transportation responsibility for a fair sized city, and they do a remarkably good job.

My only complaint is park closing time, I think they could have several busses lined up and ready to go. Although they do usually put on extra busses, its not until they see that the scheduled bus is full to capacity. It's like they didn't know everyone would be leaving at the same time.;)

Aside from that, I think the disney transportation system is wonderful. I love it.

most of the time the bus service is excellent - but sometimes you got to wonder - especially with the computer sending out 2 and 3 MK and DD buses together. that is just strange. hope they fixed that problem.

I don't consider that a problem. When a bus comes in less than 20 minutes its a good thing. I do not think it is a problem if I see 2 or 3 MK buses come before my DTD or HS bus; as long as I'm still waiting less than 20 minutes. I do think it is a problem to be addressed if I am waiting more than 20 minutes regardless of how many other park buses come by.

I did a rough calculation of all my bus rides over the last 20 years and out of about 250 to 300 bus rides we have waited more than 20 minutes on only 2 occasions. Pretty good percentage as far as I'm concerned.

I think Disney transportation gets a bad rap is because people will only write and complain about their bad experiences but you never hear reports that say: "Hey, I had a good bus ride, came in 10 minutes and we got to the park safely and comfortably". First, its not worth the effort to write it and secondly it's boring.:rotfl:

We like using the buses and have never driven to any of the parks, even on those trips when I did have a car available.

Are there some times when I had to wait a bit for a bus, sure. But for the most part, the waits have not been excessive. Plus, I don't have to drive!
