If you had to list your top 10 TS restaurants to take Newbies to, what would make your list??

We are going with another family in July, very good friends of ours. They went with us this past March for our dance team trip, and the only TS restaurant we ate at was Chef Mickey’s.

We are already planning to eat at Ohana’s, 50’s Prime Time Café, and Yachtsman’s Steakhouse (they wanted one nice steak dinner and we have decided on this one). We do not plan to eat at Chef Mickey’s since we did in March.

We need 3 more restaurants!! Thanks in advance!

Thats such a hugely vague question lol. Kind of depends on what your going for, if you will have lil ones with you or not and also everyone's tastes are different also. If your looking for more of an ambiance than food quality or not.

My must do is the pizza at Via Napoli, my favorite pizza ever. If your looking for eye candy type place you have Scifi Drive in @ DHS, Coral Reef, San Angel Inn @ Epcot, T-Rex, Rainforest Cafe @ DTD. So many great places and great food.

Our new favorite is the Cape May Cafe...a must if you enjoy seafood. Garden Grill is also a favorite.

either boma or tusker house. boma if you want to go a little nicer and tusker house for a character breakfast, if that's what you'd like to do instead of chef mickey's. both have a great variety of food for both picky and adventurous eaters. plus really cool atmosphere! also you didn't have a place in the AK area on your list :)

While you may not want signatures, I have to say that my best meals have been at signatures (generally). Herewith, my list:

  1. Via Napoli
  2. 'Ohana
  3. Kouzinna for breakfast, haven't done dinner here
  4. Beaches and Cream...YUM!
  5. California Grill
  6. Flying Fish
  7. Tutto Italia
  8. Crystal Palace for breakfast before rope drop
  9. Boma, Jiko or Sanaa to check out AKL if not for the excellent food
  10. Sci-Fi; mediocre food but incredible atmosphere

Good luck and have fun choosing! :goodvibes

I would look into Hoop Dee Do Review. It's good for adults and kids.

I also agree Via Napoli would be a good choice.

This won't be a list of 10 per se, but what I usually suggest for first timers is to book at least one:

-Character meal (my fave is 'Ohana breakfast)
-Unique experience meal (my fave is Sci Fi because the theme is so well done, others I would group in this category are things like 50s PTC, the dinner shows, WCC)
-World Showcase restaurant (my faves are Tutto and Tokyo dining)
-Fine dining experience (current faves are YSH and FF)
-Resort dining outside your home resort (some of my faves are Kona and Kouzzina)

In no particular order out favorites are

1. Via Napoli
2. Yachtsman
3. Tokyo Dining
4. Flying Fish
5. Bluezoo
6. Le Celier
7. Tutto
8. Wolfgang Puck Express
9. Earl of Sandwich
10. Les Chef de France

Now I am hungry :upsidedow

with all the dining choices and take a shot!

It all depends on who is eating and what their likes are.

We love:

Chefs de France
Beirgarten
Nine Dragons
50's prime time
Liberty Tree tavern
Earl of Sandwich
Olivia's
Fulton's
Cape May

Try an assortment and see what tickles your fancy!

Since everyone has their own preferences, if this thread goes on a couple more pages, they will have listed just about every TS place in WDW;):) And that's to be expected:thumbsup2

For what it's worth, here are some of our favourites (in no particular order)

-Citricos
-Sanaa
-Boma
-Ohana
-Crystal Palace
-50s PTC
-Yak and Yeti
-Le Cellier
-Biergarten
-LTT

Biergarten or 1900 Park Fare dinner

Agreed. :thumbsup2

OP, you already have a few of those covered:

Character meal:
Unique experience: 50's Prime Time
World Showcase:
Fine dining: Yachtsman Steakhouse
Resort dining: Ohana

If you plug in a character meal and a World Showcase meal, then you'd just need one more.

I will say this though: as a first timer it was more important to me to get enough time in all the parks than to be eating at the best restaurants. (Well, that's still more important to me, personally). So I wouldn't load up with a ton of reservations at different resorts (increases transportation time) and I'd make sure my meals were spread across parks.

You're lacking an AK area restaurant--you could do Tusker House (and fulfill the character meal category) or do Yak & Yeti (yummy).

World Showcase--pick your favorite.

And then maybe book either another Epcot restaurant or MK restaurant, depending which park you think you'll be at more. I'd lean towards MK since you already have two Epcot area meals with Yachtsman plus a World Showcase restaurant.

Not really my personal top 10, but I think everyone going to WDW should experience, CRT, Chef Mickey's, & Sci-Fi. To me, those restaurants are quintessential Disney. Dinner in WS also provides a special atmosphere that everyone should experience. Since we've experienced all of these, our personal top 10 is mostly signatures, with a few character breakfasts sprinkled in there on occasion. Those wouldn't be our choices, if we were going with Disney newbies though. We'd go for something with a more Disney feel than most of the signatures have.

* Via Napoli
* California Grill
* Yachtsman Steakhouse
* Ohana
* Citricos
* Shula's
* Tutto Italia
* Nine Dragons
* Captain's Grille

Great minds think alike. :rotfl:

All of these would be on my list except Nine Dragons and would replace it with Biergarten. :thumbsup2

what is the age range? it looks like your children are older - is that the case for the other family?

I am 17, my sister is 14, and the kids in the other family are 17 and 11.
(will be 18, 15, 18, and 12 at time of trip)

Thank you for all of the suggestions, especially this list

We are going to try to hit one in each category.

Right now thinking about:
50's, WCC, Ohana, Kona (I know both ate in Poly and similar but the family liked both menus and pictures and we love both)
Le Cellier or Yachtsmans not sure which

My ten favorite restaurants are:

Victoria and Albert's
Crystal Palace--all meals, but breakfast as #1
Blue Zoo
Ohana
50's Prime Time Cafe
Lecellier
Wolfgang Puck Express (Marketplace)
Teppan Edo
Tokyo Dining
Rose and Crown
