WDW to Universal

I hope I am posting this question in the correct spot...

We are thinking about going off property during our next upcoming trip to the new Harry Potter Universal Park. Was hoping not to have to rent a car. Any idea how much it costs to rent a car for the day or possibly take a taxi from The Beach Club?

We rented a car from the National site at the Dolphin. We did it for 5 days, and it was very easy (cost me about $130.00 last summer). We were staying at BWV so the walk was no more than 10 minutes. And, to bring it back was just as easy--drop it off with the Valet there and that was it! It was just me and the kids and I didn't want to have to drive to/from MCO (which DH usually does).

I can't imagine it would cost you more than $40.00 for the day. But, sometimes, you can get a better deal to rent for the weekend, or extended time. We just had a 3 day weekend rate for only $71.00.

Not sure on the cost of the taxi, but I can't believe it is much cheaper than that.
