WDW to Port?

We are thinking about flying in early and spending the day before we board the ship in WDW. What is the best way to get from a WDW Resort to the Port?

Disney Transporation - "Disney Cruise Transfers" $35 per person each way. Pros Disney takes care of everything your bags will be picked delivered to the ship, play movies on the bus. Cons you can't pick when you leave. Disney assigns the pick up times the day before, you won't arrive at the port untill 12:30-2:30ish

Car rental ( one way) - look around for the best deal. Pros - you're in control of when you want to leave, can make a store stop for anything you may need. Cons - dropping the car off can be a pain and the lines for the shutle can be long.

Private Transporation - Florida Tours, Happy Limo- Pros - easy, be picked up when you want, they will stop at a store to pick up supplies. Cons may cost a little more.

I would only add to the above is we.have been picked up as early as 1100 and got off at the terminal as early as 1230.

Thank you, I have been reading that if you get to the port too early you are waiting on lines and waiting to board, so getting there a little later isn't that bad, is this true?
