we've done the walk many of times and from the DTD bus stop, its about a mile walk. My wife and I are in our mid 50's, and its no problem. We're going to walk all over Disney anyway, what 2 more miles.
Yes, Goodings prices are alittle high, to us its better than paying Disney prices for pop and beer and wine. Walking there is cheaper than taking a cab further to save a few bucks on prices. We pick up rolls and meats and cheeses too. We have carried our groceries back to the DTD bus stop, laughed all the way dragging our stuff and revently taken one of our rolling duffle bags with us for the return trip. Heck, if you buy a ton of stuff you can nab a cab at Goddings and have it drop you at the DTD bus stop, can only cost about 8 bucks for so short of a ride.
We have not used grocery delivery, most do not do alcohol, and thats our main concern, I'm in Disney to sit by the pool and guzzle beers. 5.00 a bottle, Disney pool prices, ain't for me. The walk to Goodings, buying a 30 pack staves off my thirst and wallet problem. The sandwiches we make for the pool picnics make our trips special and we're not cheap, just conservative in buying on property vs off. We stay delux but like to save and its just our added touch of home while there, it doeable to walk, Goodings prices aren't that nuts as others have stated and its about the only walkable place, open 24 hours, thats a full grocery store.
