WDW Ticket Question

I'm not really sure which board to ask this question, so I apologize in advance if i'm wrong.
My mom and I are planning our second (hope to be annual) mother daughter trip. She has 3 days (no expiration) left from a previous trip this year. If we book free dining I know we will each have to purchase a 1D ticket to be eligible. My question is... will that 1D ticket already be specifically assigned to her only, as with other tickets, or could I, for instance, upgrade that ticket to no expire for use for my DH in the future? Fine either way, just curious.
Thanks!!:goodvibes

Any unused ticket is freely transferable. It may be a good idea to ask the Resort's Lobby Concierge to remove the ticket from the room key, to prevent accidentally using that card through a turnstile. Note that most "free" dining packages require at least a two day ticket for each person in the room.
