My hubby has a conference in Orlando the end of August. We originally were going to go just the 2 of us, now we are thinking of bringing the whole family. We would do wdw for 4 days and move over to his conference. Tell me how miserably hot we will be? Are the crowds at least lower then?

It's HOT. No question. Temp. in the 90's with 100% humidity.A little rain for 15-30 min.But remember the crowds won't be as bad since a lot of kids especially in the south are already back to school.

We honeymooned there in july and also spent my wife's birthday there once (Aug.25) .

So enjoy ,drink plenty of liquids and don't forget to spend time at the pool.

How much hotter will it be than Ohio? It is hot and humid here. We are going Aug 14-21. Will it be less crowded then? Never considered going, but thought if he will already be there, then why not!!

Hot? Yes. VERY hot. Crowded? Not so much. A lot of schools in the south start mid- or late-August, so that clears out a lot of the crowds.

As others have mentioned, drink plenty of water, take frequent breaks, and you'll be fine.

August is very hot (90 to 95 degree) but the humidity is what kills you. There will be thunder storms generally around 3:30pm every day. The rain comes and goes quickly, sun's back out and everything is back to normal by 5pm. We frequent the water parks more in August, and we make sure that if we're going to the theme parks, we do am rope drop. We head back to the villa around 11:30 and head back out after 4pm. The sun is the worst from 11 to 3, and combined with the humidity, it beats you up.

A little dip in the pool before or after lunch helps break up the hot day at the park. AM rope drop is also the time to see the animals at AK, in the afternoon they just sleep and hide in the shade!

Crowds will be a little less than in July because Florida schools head back a round the 13th+/-. However, crowds will still be high because Europeans don't mind the heat and they vacation a lot in August.

We LOVE going in August.

For us, NY is just as hot & humid as WDW, but we are AT WDW! Go for it. :thumbsup2

I've done August and I'm planning on doing it again this year. As soon as my resale goes through I'm calling to make my reservation. We always did mornings in the park, ate lunch around 11:45 before the crowds and then headed back to the hotel for a swim. We would collect fast passes all morning and then head back about 4:00 or so to use them in the evening. We found people were streaming out of the parks at 4:00, I'm sure they were exhausted from spending the afternoon there in the heat. It is really hot but definitely doable! :goodvibes
