WDW system down for enhancements????

This may not be a big deal...probably not...I'm sure they do this all the time...but I just called 407-W and was told they could not give me any info regarding making resservations due to the system being down for enhancements.

My call was on 1/31 at 10:20 am (EST). She said it would be down for about 30 minutes.

It was down part of yesterday too.

I called right as it went down and was told 45 mintues. I just called back and told 3-4 hours.

I waited 30 minutes and called again.
I asked the CM (who was stationed in Orlando) about it and he said that yes it had been down. He could get on but it was slow and he had difficulty getting into some areas that showed discounts that he wanted to see.
He was one of the most knowledgable CM's I have worked w/ in a long time.

In IT, when systems are down, we typically tell people we're doing "enhancement".

It sounds better than - uh... one of our interns just tripped over the power cord to your department's server.

Instead - "We're upgrading your system so it's more stable."

Hey that is kind of like the restuarant business I was a chef for a good chunk of my life and the standard was "Oh the forgot to put it on, or Oh the chef dropped it and is making another" Not sorry I forgot to put your order on.
