I was interested in maybe going to a spa when im in WDW for my birthday. I've never been. Please give me some tips on where I should go and what I should get! I have no idea what im doing!! Thanks

I did the spa at AKL last Dec and I loved it so much the next day I booked another treatment with a different girl (bc the girl the day before wasn't there) and she was not nearly as good. It was reasonably priced though...

I am going next week again to a different one, I will let you know how that goes :goodvibes

I got a Swedish massage at the Grand Floridian spa last Sept and it was very nice and relaxing. I was nervous at first because it was my first massage and it was being done by a guy. I relaxed when I realized I didnt have to be completely naked :)

I think it cost about 120.00 which in my opinion is wicked expensive but it seemed reasonable for Disney's standards.

Looks like you're staying at Port Orleans... The Spa at Saratoga Springs is close by. They have tons of offerings... nails, facials, massages, body treatments. If you've never been to a spa before I would start with a swedish massage and a facial... maybe a mani/pedi too if you have time :cloud9:

Going to Spa at Saratoga Springs on Oct with my sister and mom. Orginally had massages booked for GF but they are closing Sept 2011 for about 18 months for some refurb I'm guessing. We just found the info two days ago. Kinda bummed about it but either way, yay for massages and double yay for massages at Disney!!

Hey guys I actually work at the Saratoga Springs spa. I recommend you check us out because the Grand Floridian is closing and we will be the only full service spa in Disney property. The other locations are actually "health clubs" so you dont get the whole spa experience with them. The spas are run by a partner company called Niki Bryan, here is the website which lists all locations, services, and prices. http://www.nikibryan.com/

I do recommend you book soon because we expect a huge surge of business due to the closing of the Grand.

Niki Bryan has another little known about full service spa... Magnolia Spa at Shades of Green

I got a massage done at the GF last time I was there, and with the massage came an unexpected perk--a mid-day shower! Felt so good in the middle of the hot day! :goodvibes (as a side note, if you decide to go for this, I'd suggest bringing a hair dryer and make-up )

How far out can you book reservations?

if you have a car along and dont mind going off property (not far) i recommend going to the Light house Key spa it is in my opinion the nicest one owned by niki bryan and alot less busy and hectic because you dont get they disney crowds as much. If your really looking to relax I would go to that one.

I just scheduled a November appointment at The Magnolia and from the website it appears to be a new one but not widely advertised. I am super excited and so happy I read this thread today!princess:

Can anyone book spa treatments at Magnolia or only Shades of Gree guests since that is a resort for military personnel only?
Thanks for your help.

All resort guests can book at the Magnolia Spa it is not just for military personnel. I asked that specific question when I called to book it is not widely publicized though and you either have to walk over from TTC, take a cab or drive your vehicle..

I highly recommend reflexology at Saratoga Springs!! The women's locker room area was great, service was wonderful... and reflexology amongst all the wdw walking saved me!!

I also had a swedish massage and a custom facial. I would do all 3 again!!
