WDW return-trippers: What will you do differently this trip?

This time I am actually letting my husband pick were we go for a trip (see #1) one of my choices for him was Disney! So, we will see if I actually get to go back. (I don't know if he will choose it, he's a fan, but not as big as I am and we did just go a year ago, so we'll see.)
#1 - let someone else plan the trip. I love doing this, but I get kind of crazy. So besides telling him the dates and a Value resort, it's up to him. It's kind of nice actually. I am being very indecisive lately.

#2 - as per everyone else - NO Commando. We were there 10 days last year and still managed to go crazy. I will not do that this year. I just want to hit the hot spots.

#3 - ride Everest and Nemo - they were both being planned/built last year. Seeing Everest and not being able to ride it was horrible.

#4 - not eat as much this year. Last year we had the DP and ate constantly. It's a good deal, but it feels like you have to try and eat too much.

#5 - find more hidden mickey's. We bought the book last year at the end of the trip and didn't get to find all of them.

#6 - more photopass pics. We took a few, but passed up a lot. It's so easy to get pics of a couple this way.

#7 - do romantic things - this will most likely be the last trip before kids and we have to get them all in.

I'm sure there are more, but these are important. I really (secretly) hope he picks this trip over the others I suggested!

Hi Froggy 33! A fellow Kansan here! Here's my list for our return trip in March:

1. Stay longer. 1st trip: 5 days; 2nd trip: 9 days! We're DVC members now so that helps..... :

2. Slow down. I didn't mind being a commando but DH just about threw me into Seven Seas Lagoon. We've got kids this time so I'll have to slow down!

3. Take mid-day breaks to swim, relax, and nap. It'll be better for our feet and our minds.....

Overall, we're just going to enjoy a slower pace.....We've done all the big stuff; now we can stop and smell the roses.....

For this really short upcoming trip that i have planned, my goal is to:

1. Enjoy Epcot's World Showcase to it's fullest. I want to watch the shows, enjoy the stores and take it easy. Haven't been able to do this in a while (since I stopped going to DW with my mom) and now that we are going back together, I can't wait! and

2. Take time to eat a mickey bar and popcorn at the park.

So many changes planned for next time:

1) Spend more evenings at DTD, specifically hit DQ for more than 20 minutes, see La Nouba, and go to Adventurer's Club as often as we can. We didn't get to peruse the shops--we always showed up so late in the evening after the parks closed (and we went back to our room to clean up, take the long bus ride out to DTD from Boardwalk)--so this time we want to take more time to enjoy the shopping!

2) Load up on echniacea and Vitamin C the week prior to my trip. I get sick on nearly every vacation. I build up a lot of stress with my work in preparation for being gone, and then the "release" of vacation sends me straight into sickie-land. I have been sick on nearly every vacation for the last 6 years, I kid you not, including my 30th birthday trip--my first visit to WDW. NOT THIS TIME!

3) Spend more time in World Showcase. We had a great time there, but being it was our first trip to the World, we only had 10 days to do a gazillion things we wanted to do, and "taking your time strolling around" was not high on the list. Now that we will have hit the major points on our last trip, we can take it at least a *little* easier on this trip. That means really taking our time in WS, which was one of our favorite places in the World!

4) Hit Animal Kingdom EARLIER in the day. We are night owls, so we don't hit the parks at opening or anything, but arriving at 11am on the hottest day of our trip made for a pretty miserable afternoon in the hottest park, and we got grumpy and bored fast. This time, arrive earlier and enjoy the park a lot more (hopefully).

5) Visit some of the other resorts. Again, since it was our first trip, the parks and its many attractions were the focus. This time I hope we find some time to visit some of the theming, restaurants, and "magic" the resorts offer. Doing the dining plan may help with that--encourage us to try some restaurants we may not have normally, and therefore partake of the magic. :)

6) Visit a waterpark this time! They sure look like fun!

The list goes on, but these are the highlights.
