Hi! Can anyone who has visited recently tell me if there are seat protectors in the restrooms? Both my toddlers are trained, but if I have to put TP on the seat each time it really turns into an elongated expereince...:rotfl:

I have always wondered...what is the purpose of putting toilet paper on the seat??? If the toilet seat looks like someone got it wet, I wipe it with a piece of toilet paper, otherwise I just sit. The back of my thighs and my buttocks are not going to get a disease or something from sitting on the toilet seat, and I'm not rubbing my parts around on the seat, so what's the point??

That said, if you are really that concerned, you can buy toilet seat paper covers and keep them in your purse if there aren't any provided in the bathrooms.

No, and most of them auto flush, so if that will be an issue, bring a small pack of sticky notes to cover the sensor. Just remember to remove it before you leave.

Disney has some of the cleanest public restrooms I have ever seen. Personally, I would not take the time to cover the seats. If germs are a huge concern for you, Disney World might not be the best vacation destination. There are a bazillion germs there. :rotfl:

I'm planning to take a small container of Lysol wipes in my park bag. I've got four kids and am not wild about sitting them directly on the seat...but I also don't want to spend any more time than necessary in the bathrooms! I know Lysol wipes won't kill everything, but I can't (and won't) go to WDW and expect no germs. But every little bit helps, I think. Lysol wipe will then go in the trash.

The paper toilet seat covers seem to take forever to me anyway - gotta poke out that middle section just right, position it and try to keep it from falling in while you then position a 3-year told just so... :)

I could not agree more!!!! You're not going to catch anything by sitting on a toilet seat at Disney World.

Yeah...you're probably more likely to catch something from touching the door handle on your way out....or the railings while waiting in lines.

I think I remember the restroom at POFQ having seat covers.

They do sell travel covers you can buy.

I agree that there are as many germs on the door handle or handrails. But I can easily wash my hands and use antibac gel on my hands. Not so my kids' buns. ;)

For me, it's also less about the disease on the toilet seats, and more about...how can I put this politely...the potential hard-to-see "leftovers" that grosses me out a little. So a quick swipe with the cloth just makes me feel more comfortable.

really if there's anything on there, it being on their skin probably isn't going to be an issue anyway. You could carry wet ones or something to wipe thier buttocks and thighs if you are really worried, but again, unless they have an open wound, it's really a non-issue.

A good rule is if it is wet wipe it off...but really urine is usually sterile and while gross does not give you a lot of disease if your butt hits a wet seat. The things you touch are much worse so sitting on your hands is worse..wash well and the wipes are good..but washing and getting germs off your hands before they hit your mouth (like fecal bacteria from a handle) is key. Also Lysol and clorox wipes have chemicals in them so be careful with them.

I always use toilet seat covers, and yes, WDW restrooms have them.

Studies have shown that the door locks, door handles, faucets, air dryers, all have more germs than the toilet seat. Still, if your afraid, I know Babies R Us sells toilet seat covers.
