WDW responded!!

Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World® Resort.

Textile services does a "wet-clean" which is a non-toxic chemical clean (on the same order as
drycleaning) however, it does sterilize the article.

I don't think we would have the ability. I wonder if they take out his insides first.

In theory it's a good idea, but probably not practical. Maybe there is some kind of sanitizer spray that can be sprayed on him.

What about Lysol spray? Just a light going-over would help....

Why not buy Fabreze?? It is a spray that cleans clothes that can't be washed. I think it sanitizes too. It eliminates odors in fabrics.

I use on thing like stuffed toys, chairs, Dd prom dress after the prom. Jacket linings so they can longer between dry cleanings.

Febreeze doesn't sanitize, it just makes things smell cleaner. I personally can't stand the smell of it...but that's just me

I'm a preschool teacher - we clean toys and plush all the time.

For plush we run it thru the wash and hot dryer (which of course won't be an option here) - or surface clean with disinfectant.

If you are worrying about lice (EWWW) - wrap it in a dark trash bag and leave it enclosed for two weeks. That will ensure that all lice would have gone thru their life cycle and died off. We have also taken those bags and left them outdoors in winter - lice can't survive in freezing temps.

Other options for disinfecting is a healthy dose of sunshine in the great outdoors. Vaccuming.

Febreeze just eliminates odor- they also have an allergen reducer formula if that is an issue for you.

Maybe give it a good dose of Febreeze and then seal it up in a garbage bag for 2 weeks! I would think the Febreeze would also make it impossible to survive in a closed bag for any length of time. And it might smell fresh when you take it out of the bag.
