So….when DD19 and I go to WDW in June she really wants to try the beignets at Port Orleans. I looked to see if there’s anywhere that I could make a reservation to get into the resort that way, but there’s nothing. So….do any of you have any suggestions on how to get into that resort?

Any suggestions are appreciated - thanks 😊

You can definitely get in using Disney transportation (bus or boat). With POFQ not being convenient to a park it's possible that they may let you in by car just to look around.

Are you staying on site at WDW?
If yes and you're not staying at POR, then options are:
  • take transportation from your on site hotel to the TTC, theme park, or Disney Springs. Then switch to transportation from that location to POR.
  • Uber, Lyft or taxi there directly.
If not staying on site, then you'd need to do 1 of the following:
  • park at Disney Springs parking garage. Walk to bus stop. Get on bus to POR.
  • park at TTC like you were going to MK. Take ferry or monorail to MK. Then walk to POR bus stop.
  • park at Epcot and then take bus to POR.
  • park at AK and then take bus to POR.
  • park at HS and then take bus to POR.

Isn't there also a boat from DS to POR?

There was pre-pendemic but I'm not 100% sure if it is back. Every resort has a thread on the resorts board so I suggest asking there.

If you are there at a slow time and explain what you are doing they very well may just let you in to park but if not Uber/Lyft or Disney transportation is the way to go.

Yes - I’m renting a car
If I show the guard at the gate that I’m staying on property, will they let me in?

Boat transportation to/from OKW, POFQ, and POR - to DS - have all returned.

FWIW - we went to Port Orleans during Christmas Break week to see YeeHa Bob (in a rental car) and all that was asked for was to show ID at the gate. I agree with pp, they are unlikely to restrict parking as it is not a resort convenient to any parks via boat or monorail. If you are really concerned you could order off the quick serve menu and show them the order at the gate (a VGF guard suggested this once when we were parking to shop).

Agree w others: boat/bus from DS, or bus from one of the theme parks.
YUM beignets. Enjoy! we keep meaning to get to POFQ to try them there.

Just something to consider, if you're thinking a DS option might work - they do only open around 10AM most days. So if this is a kick-off-the-day-with-a-beignet day, and it's early, you might need to go the resort to theme park to PO route.

Hope you get to enjoy them. Where there's a will, there's a way!

Thank you!
I’ll have to try to remember to do a review of them on here.
DD19’s favorite princess is Tiana, which is why she really wants to try them. If I wasn’t a cheapskate I would have stayed at the resort, but I am, so we’re staying at AllStar Movies - LOL!

Thank you very much to everyone that replied - I appreciate you taking the time to help me out :goodvibes

One good thing about the Splash Moutnain retheme is that they will almost certainly have a Tiana's Beignets place. Disneyland already has a very popular Beignets window.

Yes, they will let you in. They are not as strict at POFQ because it is not a monorail or skyliner resort. I've done it recently (past 5 months).
And there is a ton of parking, too! It's a beautiful resort to walk around - leave some time to do that.

My DD will be thrilled that it won’t be a hassle. Hopefully they’ll be good after all the concern about getting them - LOL!

Thank you for this suggestion - we definitely will ::yes::

Agreed. No problem driving there, parking and getting the beignets. And they are good. It's a very pretty resort, wander around some.
