So how do you book a room at say the GF 11 months out if the point charts aren't out until much later?
That really makes it hard to plan the other trips!
(As it is I believe I'm gonna have to see about getting soem transferred points to ahve enough for the last trip of that use year... What happens then if I'm short points after the 2005 cahrts come out or have too many? I'm assuming they won't let me bank transferred points?)
The earliest you can book a trip for January 2005 is February 2004. To tell you the truth, I'm not exactly sure when we can expect the charts. If they aren't ready yet, they book it with an "estimate" and then let you know later how much it will be (like with pre-booking cash rates). Usually, the points only fluctuate a few points up. However, a few years ago when they added concierge some folks found their plans now required double or more the points had expected! I doubt anything that drastic will happen again but I hesitate to "guess" what DVC will do.
From 2003 to 2004 there was no change in Weekday (or weekend) GV during Value Season at the GF. (37/67 points) Other days/categories have changes up and down a few points. The same room in 2002 was 35 points weekdays and 63 points weekends. In 2001 and earlier, rooms were booked by "best available" at one price per season and the seasons matched DVC seasons. In January, September and early December a weekday room at the GF (which was usually a lagoon room) ran 26 points.
