WDW refurb opportunity due to COVID?

Was asking myself, with the (at least) 2 weeks closing of the parks, what an opportunity for Disney is this! They could do stuff, they hardly imagined about. Good weather, no people, daylight.

I mean like,

- get the new paint job done for the castle,
- basic clean of the major areas,
- EPCOT demolition,
- overhauling some rides...

If you have the staff, within those 2 weeks you get jobs done you would need months usually. What are your thoughts?

I hope they are doing something with this once in a generation opportunity, but also think they have to watch out for the health and safety of the workers as relates to the virus. It could be done. They dont have to worry about guests in the parks so they could probably work much more efficiently. Epcot is such a mess right now... it would also be great if they could expedite some of that MK train work... A Disney castle park with no train is so unusual. Unfortunately, I think any projects not already underway are gonna be scrapped due to loss of revenue.

My guess is it's too soon/sudden to do anything major. Ride refurbs take months and months of planning, they have to budget for the work to be done. With the park closures Disney is facing a huge financial setback right now, and it's not like they can take a ride operator cast member and tell them to grab a wrench. With schools out indefinitely and more and more people isolating due to exposure or symptoms, I think it's going to be running on essential positions only for the duration. The only thing is that the castle upgrade is already underway, that may finish ahead of schedule.
