WDW Pin Trading

Hey everyone,
So I am going to WDW in August for 2 weeks and had just a couple questions about pin trading there.

I have been collecting pins for 10 years and really miss the days when people gathered at DTD for the evening and just traded and had fun.
I have been out of the game for the last couple months because of school but since I will be going to WDW soon, I need to refresh my memory on the whole pin trading protocol.

Do they have any place where you can go and trade with other guests? ie: bring your pin bags and trade with other traders) Last time I was there they had monthly pin trading nights at the Contemporary. Does this still go on?
Basically since I am from the north, I really rely on my annual WDW trip to do a majority of my pin trading!

Hello! I believe they still have events liket he conteporary ones, but only like 1 or 2 times a year. Everytime I go, I am not aware of any group of guest trading. But I do know that we saw a lot of trading at the pin store in DTD!

As the PP said, they do occasionally still have the event at CR. You can keep an eye on the event listing on Disney's pin website, but it's not always the most up-to-date.

I've seen traders at the tables in Epcot, but they seemed mostly to be trading with tourists rather than each other. (Sadly, they were the ones that would say, "if you buy me that pin, I'll trade you for this one..."). I read that the tables were removed for a while, and I can't remember if they're back.

Your best bet for random trading with other trader would be Epcot. I've tried to hang out at the pin trading stations at MK and DHS, but not much luck there. There always seems to be someone at Epcot with a massive book or binder full of pins that is willing to trade. As a PP stated, some of them will only trade for rare or limited pins, but there I've run across a couple in the past year that I felt have traded fairly with me (i.e., not really interested in the pins I had for trade, but managed to find a couple character pins that they thought they might be able to trade in the future just to help me get the pins I wanted).
