WDW Park Hoppers to DL Park Hoppers?

Good morning guys!
We are planning on making to trip from NC to DL the last week of January. Since we are on the east coast and are big WDW nuts, we typically try to keep a "stockpile" of park hopper days at our disposal.

A while back, it seems that I read somewhere that I could bring my unused WDW Park Hoppers (w/ no expiration option) to Guest Services at DL on a daily basis and have them "converted" to a DL Park Hopper.

Has this ever been true, or does DL even do this?

Thanks in advance for the info!!

Merry Christmas!

Thanks Tony for the information. I tried searching for this but had no success....

We are pretty pumped about the trip... believe it or not, but its gonna be a pretty low cost trip for us... Got 3 free plane tix from being voluntarily bumped 3x time last year on United, staying on our DVC points at the Grand Californian, using AMEX points for a rental car, and now using our un expired park hoppers for admission... Just have to pay to eat....

Now have to say many prayers for good weather to make it through O'hare successfully.

I just did this last week. It will take a few minutes because the person at the gate has to call a supervisor. The only thing to make sure is that the DL ticket they give you says it's a parkhopper. The first day I was there I had no problem. On the second day they made the ticket for 1 park only and by the time I realized it I made the call to not have it fixed as the crowds were so big.

Duane, wow, I lovingly refer to my wife as the "Coupon Queen", so she would be very proud of your many discounts, etc. If all you have to pay for is food, then you may want research some of the nicer restaurant choices and make a few reservations. Dining is not as big of a deal at DL as at WDW, but there are a few favorites among the DIS crowd (Blue Bayou, Steakhouse 55, Napa Rose, Storytellers Cafe, etc). Either way, you'll have a great time. Good luck with the weather at O'Hare. At least you know it will be nicer once you get to DL.

Can you take 2 days off of a WDW 10-day park hopper? Or, does it have to be an even exchange? TIA

They wiill remove / trade one day at a time. So, if you want to take 2 days off of your 10-day PH'er, you will do the above explained process 2x, once for each day you visit. They will not do several days at once.

Where does this transaction take place? At the turnstiles as you go into the park, or at Guest Services?

One more question...do the WDW tickets have to be hoppers in order to exchange them or can you exchange a day on a WDW non-hopper and then upgrade to a hopper? Thanks.

You exchange them at the turnstiles. I do not believe there is an option to upgrade to a hopper since you have to do the exchange at the turnstile.
