Hi! Thinking of planning a trip over Thanksgiving of 2007 and was wondering how this time of year is? Weather warm enough to swim? We're thinking of going from the Thurs before Thanksgiving until the Sunday after, so wouldn't have to go to a park on Thanksgiving day, if the crowds are large then. Do a lot of people go this week? We'd like to go when crowds are low and temps are mild (wouldn't everybody!).
Also, we'd like to spend some beach time somewhere while we're there. We will be traveling with 3 kids, ages 3.5, 8, 10.
Any advice would be helpful!
Thanks!!

I've been to florida & disney over the Thanksgiving holiday numerous times. The weather is nice... sometimes a little to cool for swimming. (i am typically comfortable in jeans and a tee in the sun and a long sleeve in the shade... I LOVE WARM WEATHER!) Crowds aren't to bad... Most ppl say the week before thanksgiving day is not crowded at all... but starting Thanksgiving day through Sunday... The crowds pick up. I will be in Disney Thanksgiving 2006 with my family of 7!

So, the temps might be in the 70's for highs, would you say? Sounds like a good time to go, I think. Maybe we'll do Disney the first half of the trip, then head to a beach for the last 3-4 days?
Thank you sooo much for the tips!!

We were at Universal two years ago at Thanksgiving and will be at WDW right before Thanksgiving this year and then on to Universal the Tuesday before Turkey Day. Two years ago, the weather was great. We were at the pool most days and in shorts the entire time. I'm from Colorado so what may be warm to me, may not be to others although most folks were in shorts. We did bring a sweatshirt for the evenings.

Thanksgiving is a great time to travel!

Thank you for your replies. I think we'll probably stick to that plan, as long as we can reserve our timeshare for that week. It's supposed to be "value" time, so we should be OK.
I can't wait! :Pinkbounc

Can't predict the weather. We have been there the past two TG and there was a couple warm days and a couple cold days each time. Crowds are thick but not too bad and they put up all the decorations the day after TG. Plus, you can get the traditional meal at many restuarants and its nice not to cook. If your like my family and don't really care for the traditonal meal you could do what we did: had a big breakfast at Boma and snacked around the WS for dinner. Best TG food I have ever had. I'm sad I won't be there this year, but have to go to my brother's house instead. I love him dearly but TG at WDW was becoming a new tradition for us.

We have our trip planned and booked for 11/18-11/25. This will be our first trip to Disney :cool1: and I'm sooo excited. I booked online through WDW and charged to my Disney VISA. If codes do become available will I be able to apply them to my package? Any helpful tips and hints are welcomed and encouraged.

We did our first trip to WDW over TG. During the day our weather was warm...we did shorts and t-shirts...and had a sweatshirt for the am and evening. The kids went swimming at night after we got back from the parks. We only did a 3 night stay. Checked in on Wed and headed home on Sat. The parks were pretty crowded, but they are open pretty long hours. MK was open till midnight. The decorations are beautiful. Have a great time.
Sharon :thumbsup2
