WDW name tags

where in WDW is the best place to get WDW name tags? we are going to be there for 11 day and we all want name tags. its that extra magical touch. thanks in advance.

I would buy them at the World of Disney store in Downtown Disney. You then have to take them to engraving at the Christmas store to get your name engraved. That may take a few days to do.

You can also buy the blank name tags at the Christmas store. They can engrave them there also.

I'm pretty sure you can acquire them at any of the parks, but at the moment I'm drawing a blank on specific places (though I definitely remember seeing them made at the gift shop just outside the Walt Disney exhibit "One Man's Dream" at MGM). I'd just flag down the first cast member I could see and ask.

I know for sure, if your first stop is the MK, you can get them in the back half of Uptown Jewelers on Main Street.

If your going to MGM early on, th 5&10 there has several to choose from and engraved it in just minutes.

DH and I got ours on Main Street at MK..There is a gift shop that does the engraving and will send it back to your room!

If they aren't busy, The Days Of Christmas at DTD will do them for you within a half hour. If you want, they can send them to your hotel.

The 5&10 has a very large selection in MGM; though expect to wait an hour or more if they are busy for engraving. As well, the Uptown Jewelers on MainStreet in MK has them; however there are no places in AK or Epcot to get them engraved.
FYI: I tried to get my alias engraved at the 5&10 and they refused to do it since it wasn't a proper "first name". You can see our name tags on some of our pictures in the Live Trip report thread for Timon & Darkrobe.

They are $6.39 with tax. The engraving is free.

We bought ours at the Christmas Store in DTD. We just happened to be in there when they weren't really busy so we got the badges and had them engraved in a matter of minutes.

Later in the trip, we decided to get a few more to give for souvenirs and we bought them at park opening at MGM at the 5 & 10. We left them to be engraved and picked them up on our way out that night. I did like the engraving style better that was used at DTD. The names were much larger on the ones done at MGM. It wasn't that these looked bad. I just preferred the size on the DTD ones.

You can get them at any of the merchandise stores mentioned in previous threads, order the names you want on them, and either pick them up at the end of the day (at the place where you purchased them, package pickup) or have them shipped to your room(Disney hotels/resorts only), or have them shipped home (price of ups shipping applies)......and if you're lucky they may even be ready in 15 minutes...so hang out look at all the other merchandise and wear/carry them around the rest of the day!

Just a couple of followups:

1) The name machine at MGM is definately larger font/ easier to read than DTD.
2) Ask!! - The odds are it won't take long... You can always shop the many stores and come back in just a bit. I wouldn't bother with shipping/etc.

As a rule of thumb I always lecture my kids to "go to someone who works here, with a name tag" if they get separated from us. Anyone ever have to help lost children out with these name tags?

that the Disney "Guest of Honor" name tags are no longer available and, according to the Christmas Store in DTD they will not be made again.

Bummer.
