WDW chefs have been changing the menus up quite a bit lately. New treats, entrees, and desserts are popping up all over the World. Many of them reflect "healthy choices" for those wanting to dine without too much guilt while on vacation. Sci-Fi, a fan favorite because of its car-style dining tables, recently changed its menu to incorporate a whole grain pasta dish which compliments a grilled chicken sandwich and veggie burger option. Other additions include such items as a "mile long hot dog" at Beaches & Cream, rice pudding and other expected changes to the New York Strip at Sanaa, and a new lunch menu at Rose & Crown.

What do you think of the new dining changes at WDW? Is it a good thing to update a menu regularly? Do menus with "healthier options" entice you to eat at a particular restaurant while on vacation? Post here and let us know your thoughts.

I like that they change some thing on the menus. Since we dine primarily at wdw restaurants while we're there I prefer some variety. I think the healthy choices are good idea but we all know calories don't count on vacation... Wink wink.

I think it's good to offer healthy options, the key word being "options." I'm still a little bitter about the wheat hot dog buns at Casey's.

I'm a low-carber, so normal "healthy choice" menu options really don't work for me. Thankfully, I get a meaty/cheesey/veggie meal at most venues. I still get funny looks from people when I ask for a burger with no bun or ketchup. In fact, at fast food places, it normally takes longer to get my food because I've asked for a modification and it confuses the cook staff.

I think that changing some of the items on the menu is good. Adding heathly food is good too. I think this way I like something everynow and again. DOn't want to same ol for years to come. popcorn::

I like that they're changing things up a bit. New items are always nice to try, although I admit I hate it when a favorite disappears.:goodvibes

I also like the healthier options, although I eat very healthy at home so when I'm vacationing I like to indulge.

I'll be interested to check out some of the new options this December. I rarely eat at SciFi, even though I love the atmosphere. As a diabetic, they don't have much there that fits my dietary needs. While I'm not as strict on vacation as I am at home, I don't want to go completely off the deep end, either, because I just end up feeling tired & ill. I just know that some people's idea of "healthier" really isn't so much. So we shall see!

I like the idea of changing things up. Variety is always good. However, I don't like when the healthy choices are made for you....the buns at Casey's as an example. While in the parks we're sort of a captive audience, I want to be able to choose which options are best for me.

I welcome new changes to the restaurants....It is great to have healthy options. I live in NY where the chain restaurants must put the calorie count on the menus... I will tell you it does influence what I order.

Changing menu items is one issue. The thing that has happened at the Studios restaurants like Sci-Fi, 50's Prime Time and Brown Derby is that they have gone to one menu for the entire day. There is no longer the two seperate menus, lunch and dinner menus, just one for the whole day.

This is a great way for Disney to raise prices without saying it. The prices are dinner prices not the lower lunch ones.

One side note, the Sci- Fi menu is very heavy on burgers and I did read somewhere they are having a grill capcity issue and meals are taking longer to come out.
