WDW Marathon

Today, while getting my registration package for the National Capital Marathon, there was a booth advertising the Walt Disney World marathon.

There is also a 10K run on October 10. We will be at WDW from September 29 to October 10. My flight is at 1:00pm, and the run is a 7:00 am, so I would be done by 7:45am and have plenty of time to catch my plane.

My question is on the marathon. Is anyone has done it? How pleasant is it to do?

Well we won't let DS see this-lol! Seeing as we will be there at that time.
He is running the Manitoba Marathon in June and has mentioned the disney marathon (the jan one)..I told him in a few years-mabey when he is finishing high school we would look at it!
I didn't realize you could do 10 in 45 mins! Wow..this is ds's first big marathon and I have no idea how long it will take him!

The Disney Marathon is open for anyone 18 years and older but I am not sure about the 10k run.

10k in 45 minutes is a 7:20 min per mile. I run longer distances with a 8:00 to 9:00 min per mile pace.

Your son should be able to do the marathon in about 4:00 hours if he maintains a 9:10 pace.

I believe that the Disney 10k starts at the Boardwalk, goes through MGM Studios and finishes at Wide World of Sports.

Since you have the time to do the run, I say go for it! I've seen quite a few posts from this years Marathon/Half-Marathon and they all say that it is such a fantastic feeling to be running/walking in the happiest place on earth!
