Wdw Marathon

I've noticed we will be visiting next year when the WDW Marathon takes place.

Should I plan to visit a non disney park on this day.

Or will we not notice it going on.. I read somewhere that roads close, but this may just be around the world of sports complex.

Can anyone help??

I think the marathon starts about 6.30am so the parks opening might be slighty later than usual. I guess it could be busier in the parks on the day due to extra people in town, given the choice I would head for an offsite park that day.

In my experience the marathon doesn't make much difference to park attendance. They do run through the parks though so there will be the odd roped off bit which you have to be carefuly crossing. We watched them run through MGM while we were there and they go on to finish in Epcot but they didn't interfere with our park touring in any way.
