WDW makes FOXNews Grrrr! Column

AC/DC lead singer Bon Scott better watch out!

Hello! Bon Scott passed away in the late 70's and Brian Johnson is now the lead singer of AC/DC!

From the column:
Even better, think about the fact that your children — your most cherished possessions — have their health.

Children aren't possessions!!! Yikes.

"AC/DC lead singer Bon Scott better watch out!"

Um, Bon Scott's been dead for almost 26 years (February, 1980). Brian Johnson has been AC/DC's singer since late 1980 or so.

Glad I'm not the only one who noticed the AC/DC slip up.

As a fan and friend of Kidd Kraddick I'm glad Kidd's Kids got a plug.

Why is this on Fox? Wait... there it is.

"And the cool thing about Disney is that they don't only pander to the "Happy Holidays" crowd.

The lights actually say "Merry Christmas," and there are even some angels flying around. Imagine that, a conglomerate not conforming to political correctness."

I saw that too. What a moron.

Have you ever heard of Hayseed Dixie? OMG... OMG... it's a bluegrass band who covers AC/DC. :rotfl2: You would die if you heard them. I have one of their CDs. (I'm a huge AC/DC fan)

Can't say I have. Sounds like its absurd along the same lines as "Dred Zepplin", a reggae band who cover Led Zep with an Elvis impersonator frontman.

I noticed this also. Last week, during our annual pilgrimmage to the Mouse House, my DW noticed a full Nativity scene set up in the midst of the Osborne Lights showcase at the Studios. Add that to the "Merry Christmas" and angels and we were pleasantly surprised.

But I am sure the lawsuits are being churned out as we post...

But did you try make a point by thinking "they are not caving to PC" or did you think "they sure know how to market to the majority"?

Since Disney is one of the most progressive and most "PC" compaines in America I got a chuckle that this Fox guy was giving them a compliment. He likely would be agianst them on almost any other subject.

Actually, neither one. My DW spotted it first and pointed it out. I think I just thought, "Cool." I don't think Disney is attempting to market to any particular group; I believe they are just displaying the Osborne Lights per their agreement with the family.

Back to the topic, I pretty much agreed with Straka on everything but his snide comment about the "scooters." Maybe he should spend a day riding around on one to (a) discover just how truly invisible you become and (b) learn how those devices don't stop on a dime, especially when people look right through you and decide they and their entire troop will walk directly in front of you.

That is true about Osborne, but not true about everything else (Candlelight, store names, decorations, etc.)

Not saying it's good or bad (but I do think it's good since I enjoy them), but I do believe it has everything to do with money and not anything else.

On your last point I totally agree. Anything and everything Disney does is always about the money. What else matters? :confused3

My husband has one of their cd's. I ROFL everytime I hear it. It is hysterical :rotfl:

I agree. My first post on the subject was thinking the Fox guy was saying there was another reason (going against the PC crowd).

Typical Fox.

How can he push this charity and then turn around and criticize those who need to use mobility devices. Really 2 faced him.

I can't help but wonder if this exact same article was posted on MSNBC or CNN.com posters would be saying the same thing.

It's true that nowadays it always seems shocking to see things overtly religious in public (yes, I know that Disney land is "private property"). I think the guy was just saying that it's a surprise to see a Nativity and a "Merry Christmas" in lights.

That being said, I don't think the article is all that interesting (not trying to be offensive at all to the OP by saying that)...what is interesting is that we've turned this article into a political statement simply because it's been posted on FoxNews.com.
