Have you ever tried to be THE last person in the park? (not counting CMs) How long were you able to drag it out? I just think it'd be so cool to be able to walk down main street, knowing I'm the last "official guest" to leave!

Collorary question: Do you think that the last official guests get the most official 'boot' of the evening?

If you try to stay, my sense is you quickly learn that those sweepers mean business and are not to be messed with.

MK had a 1am closing time with no EMH and I stayed to the very end. I decided to go to the back of the park and was THE last visitor to ride Peter Pan (the senior cast member working there climbed in the boat behind me). I left and slooooooooly ambled to the front. I knew there were no visitors behind me. Various cast members kept coming up to me to help me on my way. By the time I got to the gate only a few other visitors were milling around. So, that was my attempt.

Once years ago on a Nov. trip we had an ADR at Liberty Tree Tavern for the character dinner and MK closed early. It was like a Thursday night. They were not opened until 9 or 10 that night. When we came out...the park had closed and we were not the last people there but CLOSE TO IT. It was slow time anyway that particular day at MK and it was the quietest it has ever been in MK for any of our trips. It was really nice.

:rotfl: I always wanted to be swept off my feet!!

One thing I did forget though....what if you missed the last bus or monorail...that'd truly stink!!

Do you know how close to closing they will allow you to get on a ride? I'll have to look on the map and see which is the furthermost part!

One night at MK my kids and I stayed for the 3 AM EMH. We closed down at BTMRR. Walked to the restroom between Adventureland & Frontierland. As we went down Main Street my DD realized her coin purse had fallen off her lanyard. We stopped in the Guest Relations and waited for awhile as they called BTMRR to see if it was found on their nightly track sweep. We walked out at about 3:40 AM and there was a lone security guard standing by the Minnie/Roy statue waving good night. We didn't see any other people. Got to the bus stop and there was a lone bus driver who asked us where we wanted to go and took us straight to Pop. I can't say for sure we were the last out but it sure felt like it!

Another time I hit Mousegear shop after closing down Soarin at EMH. it was closing so I left and walked back to the Beach Club through the International Gateway. From Future World all the way to the exit at the IG I did not see another person. It was actually kind of creepy, yet cool!

They allow you to get into the ride line right up to the time of closing. They allow whoever is in line at closing to ride.

Noooo I'm one of the crazy people heading straight for a bus right after the fireworks (the only reason I'd be in a park late ). I'm probably back at the hotel asleep before the last person leaves the park. :rotfl:

At DLR we were passing California Scream'n a bit after park closing. All rides were already closed and lines cleared. CM's asked if we wanted to ride with employees. We said sure and hopped on. We rode several times then headed out. The park was completely empty except for a few CM's.

I've been one of the last batch of people out of MK.

Disney does a pretty good job of hustling you out without being rude about it. The soft closings (food, shows, some rides) and whole sections make it a pretty smooth operation.

Most importantly, you get the fast sense that being in WDW alone would NOT be such a great thing. While crowds can be frustrating, it really isn't all that great to be on a ride or in an area by yourself. Yes, it is novel at first, but not as appealing.

So for instance, as another poster mentioned, the CMs will help you out of the park...in very subtle ways like walking next to you, like making sure you know which way to go. The more you love WDW, the less likely you are to want to break the rules and get in trouble - so we calmly (albeit slowly) leave.

For me, there were some ideal times in that 12-3am EMH where we'd walk up to a ride like IASW with enough other people to have a few in each boat but no more. It felt a little like we were there on a company picnic and our company had enough crazy cash to rent the entire place. Uncrowded and everything was a walkon, but we weren't alone.

We got stuck on the last elevator on ToT in September. It was an EMH night for DHS and at exactly 1am we got on ToT - it was just the two of us plus two other kids. We were stuck for about 20 minutes and then were allowed to ride again so we weren't off ToT until 1:25 - as we were walking out it felt like were the last ones there. There were a few ppl at the bus stops and that was my least favorite part - we had to stop at three resorts before finally making it back to AKL.

A small number of folks from the dis here were at MK back in 2001. We hung around well after the Kiss Goodnight. Sat around, chewing the fat in the hub. The only CM's we saw were a few security and late night maintenance. We started to drift down Main Street, probably upwards of 2 hours past closing, toward the exit. One of the suits asked us what resort/s we were staying at. We told him the 3 or 4 where we were staying. He replied, 'That's what we thought, your bus is outside waiting for all you guys'. We got on the bus, only us, and the single bus took us all to our respective resorts. we were the last ones out.

Nice memories.

On our last trip, my fiance and I were in the Magic Kingdom one night and unfortunately he had become pretty sick towards closing. This being on an EMH evening, we were already there pretty late, and so I waited and waited for him...eventually the whole park seemed to be cleared out (or at least it seemed like it where we were at). I saw quite a few CMs walking past, but none really seemed to encourage me to move along (I think camping outside of the restrooms is the official "I'm waiting for a sick one" sign ). One did stop in the restroom though, and said "there's one still in there," and I replied with a "Yep, that one's mine". I was so glad to have a CM do a quick check in for me.

After what felt like an 1 (maybe even longer) after closing, my poor fiance emerges and we start to make our way to the front. Along the way though, he almost becomes sick again and a CM is nearby and asks if we need any assistance. So I sat Nathan down, and asked the CM if he could hang out for a bit, and he does (he leans up against a post and tries to make it look like he's working on something, all the while keeping an eye on Nathan). I tell Nathan, that I could get him out of there quick if need be, but eventually the moment passed and we made our way out of the park. No one was on Main Street except the 2 of us (and some CMs of course :)). The CM that hung out with us did make sure we made it out of Adventureland okay though, which was very kind of him. I, like others, wish I had gotten a name so I could make sure he had gotten some props for that. :flower3:

Overall, it was pretty eerie to be there after everyone had gone....Just sitting by myself in the Adventureland/Frontierland restroom area for that hour, was not the most comfortable. But it's Disney so I knew I was in good hands. :thumbsup2

I was a cast member years ago in Main Entrance Merchandise at MGM and we "opened" at least an hour before and closed two or three hours after official park hours. Back then a guest was never asked to leave. Security would slowly stroll (at a distance) behind them to keep the guests from "circling back".

Many nights we stood around making overtime pay $$ while a family sat on the bench for an hour....thanks :thumbsup2

The best part was while the family was sitting quietly enjoying the magic, there were literally hundreds of 3rd Shift workers, trucks, lift trucks, etc. pushed up tight to the gates waiting to get onstage and start their night's work.

The conversation on dozens of radios was, "where are they?" and "Are they clear?". Finally, there would be the "Park is clear" call and 3rd shift swarmed onstage. It was quite the sight....

Last night, we were at Epcot, and after Illuminatiins we made our way to Mouse Gears to do some shopping. I can assure you we were the last guests paying for an item and pretty sur, we were one of thevery last to exit the park. :goodvibes

No, just the opposite. Was the first visitor into MK (Magic Behind the Steam Trains Tour). Fun to see Main Street cleared out during daylight hours, and cool photo-op.

Would be fun to stay REALLY late at one of the parks, but we like heading back with our kids to hit the pool at the resort.

Way back when they used to have E-nights at MK, DW and I sat by the hub for a while and didn't see anyone. We walked down mainstreet by ourselves which was very cool. When we got over to the TTC a CM drove us to our car. Don't know if we were the only people in the park, but it sure felt like it.
