This is a rather convoluted story, so please bear with me.
DD is a cast member. About 2 years ago she made a "family and friends" reservations for some friends of ours. She did it from the CM site, online. Since then, whenever she makes another reservation for us, the address and phone number seem to default to these friends'. So we have to be careful to make sure everything is corrected, or our reservation information gets mailed to them. We have tried to get Disney to change the defaults on DD's information, but somehow this old address and phone number keep popping up.
Here's the latest: a couple of months ago I made a DVC reservation at BCV for next week. DD's name was nowhere on it. She is an associate member, but she didn't make the reservation and is not staying with us. Online, I signed up for ME -- and on December 11th Disney mailed our ME luggage tags and information to this old friends' address!
How did this happen?
That's the question I've been trying to get answered this morning. I talked to MS -- they have the address correct, so it must be ME's fault. Talked to ME: they only process the information given them. Talked to reservations: it must be the CM database. Talked to CM reservations: we can't access DVC reservations at all, they are totally separate databases. Only, quite obviously, the databases CAN'T be totally separate, else how would this address from DD's CM friends reservation made two years ago get applied to my DVC ME reservation?
Right now, Disney told me they are doing a system upgrade (wow, is that needed!), so they can't access any data. Call back later. After 4 calls and a cumulative 50 minutes on hold I don't know I want to go there again.
So my advice is: check and double-check all your information when you make a reservation. And don't be in such a hurry for online reservations: if this is the kind of thing that can happen I'd be very nervous about it!
And if there's a WDW IT guy who happens to lurk on these boards: is there anything that can be done to get this fixed?
