Well, I guess it isn't too early since there are already threads about other '08 events. I'm skating the marathon in 2008 - anyone else wanna come. I would love to have a WISH team.

I need something to do the year I turn 35, and this is it! I've never been a runner, always been a skater, so this sounds like fun.

I would also love to hear from others who have done this race or anyone who is thinking about skating it.

Hmm... if I'm trying to add to a Disney medal collection looks like this might be a way... The half marathon looks like it gets a medal too! I wonder if 90 minutes of skating will really do in my back... and I wonder if DW and I could rent skates somewhere... :confused3 Guess that could be yet another 07 event for us!

I have no idea what the medals look like, but this is about my only chance to get one! I don't/can't run (knee and hip problems), so unless they have a team division for the triathlon, this is my only shot.

90 minutes might be a stretch - the winning time in the Open division last year was 1:25:15.

I inline skate in the summer, the farthest I've gone is 10 miles at 6-7 minute pace, but I have time to train! I wouldn't recommend just hopping on skates for this race. You use way different muscles than running, no matter what your endurance level.

:lmao: Whew! Granted I'm not the fastest person on earth, but I thought 90 min. would be pushing it!!

I entered the inline marathon saturday, not even sure if I could do the half. I have only rollerbladed 3 times in the last 6 months but run, bike, eliptical and weights at the gym. I really do not run on the roads except for running races. I finished in 2 hours 21 minutes 22 seconds it was not that hard at all but right now my legs, abs are really sore. I just would mention about 1.5 miles into the race there is a big down hill after you go up a hill and you are with a lot of people. I got going way to fast and thought for sure I was going down must have been doing at least 40 mph somehow I stayed on my feet, the next time I went through was alone for the most part and rode the break the whole way down the hill. The had paramedics waiting at the bottom of the hill. If I trained I think I could break 2 hours and got a decent pair of skates.

AWESOME!

Congrats on the finish.
I can't wait until next year!
