Do you guys still enjoy WDW when the weather is not very warm? For some reason it seems like Disney and the heat go hand in hand for me.:confused3 :)

It's all relative. The coldest I've experienced in Orlando was about 38*. The windchill today was -10 when I was out trying to clear the 1/4 inch of ice off my car earlier. 38* would seem downright tropical to me right now. Generally when Disney is cold, it's a LOT colder here
And Disney is Disney. It does seem a little strange to tour in jeans and a sweatshirt (the most layers I've ever worn in Orlando), but I still had a blast, and if it's "cold" when I go in a couple weeks, I'm sure I'll still have fun. I just won't ride Kali.

I've been there a couple of times when we were in coats and gloves, it was down in the 30's and 40's, or in the 50's with a cold wind. I prefer cool weather, but not that cool.

As a former Michigander and now a Floridian, I have been to Disney in the hottest and coldest weather. I prefer "cooler" weather during Christmas (My definition of cooler being in the 60's and 70's) makes the snow seem that much more real. I also like to visit when it is in the 70's and low humidity. I try to avoid Disney during the summer months, I think it is awful to be there in the heat and humidity. However, I have been known to be there in the middle of July. It seems that my family from up north always plan summer trips. Bottom line: I love being at Disney no matter what the weather! :wizard:

I enjoy WDW in the cooler or cold weather - being a Floridian and roasting in the parks during the summer doesn't appeal to me at all. This year September was miserable when we were there and even our day trips in the past 2 weeks have been pretty hot - t-shirt & shorts weather. I'm looking forward to it being a bit cooler in January for our mini-vacation - at least I can hope!! :goodvibes

As much as I love Disney if it drops below 70 I am cold. So no I don't enjoy it as much as if it were warm. I know I am crazy but my favorite time to go to FLA is in August. The warmer the better for me as I have poor blood circulation. My DH and DS on the other hand like it just a tad cooler.

I love warm weather...but would much rather be cold than HOT..I can always put on another layer. now...the 30s or 40s would be pretty chilly....Lets hope it is 72 degrees every day Jan 2-5!!!

We just got back from doing a 47 degree MVMCP!!

We dressed accordingly, but it was the Santa hat's and Gloves that were a lifesaver..

I would prefer weather in April before it gets too hot and humid, but we like to go away in Jan/Feb to get away from the Canadian cold... 60's is much better then snow and freezing temps. :)

I went in January this year and it was amazing. I hate being hot so the cold was great! We wore fleece and long sleeves and were fine. It also seemed like we didn't get near as tired after a cold day in the parks versus a hot day. Loved not sweating profusely!!

I understand what you are saying...and yes, Disney World is in Florida and therefore you expect warm weather. But right now, it is 7 degrees in Chicago with 3 inches of snow on the ground. I would love some Florida weather - even if it was in the 50's - right now.:beach:

I like the cooler weather of Jan/Feb, but there is a point where it can be too cool! I went the 2nd week of February in 2007, and there were 2 days that I was just downright cold, freezing, and completely miserable in the blustery cool wind. One day on that trip, I vividly remember leaving my room in the morning (in the 50's area at POP by the lake), and just felt how cold and uncomfortable I was (and staring at the bleak abandoned side of POP didn't help perk me up), and I just lost all desire to go anywhere. I just turned around and went back to the room and just relaxed most of the day!

I am going in January and staying at WL, so if it's cold and blustery again, at least I am in one large building where it's easy to just hang out, in case I don't feel like hitting a park. :)

I prefer days in the low to mid 70's and nights in the 60's, for theme park touring. I don't want to be hot during the day, but I'd also rather not have to wear a jacket at night either. I was there last week when it was in the 80's and that was too warm for me during the day. I'm going in January and hoping for more seasonal temperatures.

I find that if it's a really cold day, MK is the best park to be in, and Epcot the worst. MK has buildings that are fairly close together, which helps block any wind that might be blowing, and there are so many areas where you can cut through buildings to get from one place to another. Epcot, on the other hand, is very spread out, and the wind coming off the water in WS just goes right through you if it's cold. The Studios and AK fall somewhere in the middle - not too spread out, but not too close either.

I'm a FL native, and I love it when it's cold. My DH got me a set of Disney gloves and hat a few years back, so I'm all set for the cold. I just dress for it.

It's funny, we were there Saturday and met some northerners that were complaining about the heat. I thought it was perfect weather. I suppose if they're still there, they're happy today :)

I enjoy being able to run around and not worry about the heat factoring into my energy level when it is cooler. There is less focus on exterior forces. Even if it is in the colder Florida temps it is still warmer than what I consider cold here (below 30degress is cold). I wore a jacket over a sweatshirt a few nights last January and still enjoyed every bit of the visit, more than I would in the heat of summer.

This will be our 4th time going at this time of the year and where we used to always go in the summer, we now always go in the winter. It does get very cool sometimes but I would rather put more layers on than have to take layers off(and there is only so far you can go taking layers off). I also think you are much less cranky when you are not so overly hot and tired. So where you think Disney and the heat go hand in hand, I much more prefer going when it is colder!

I do not enjoy doing anything in the cold, which is why I live in Florida! Even here it can get too cold for me to enjoy the parks. If the high temperature is not going to be over 65, I'd rather not go than have to spend my time shivering in a jacket. My blood has thinned out! On the other hand, heat does not bother me much and I'd prefer to be too warm than cold.

My in-laws moved from Minneapolis to San Antonio a few years ago and their blood has thinned out too When they just visited us in Northern VA at Thanksgiving they were freezing the whole time!

For Disney, I prefer cooler weather. Ideally, I like it to be in the 60's, but 50's wouldn't bother me a bit. When we went to the P&P party last Jan., it was in the 40's and we saw lots of people in heavy winter jackets. My kids were wearing flimsy costumes with just a shirt and jeans under them for most of the night. I was wearing a lightweight shirt and fleece pullover and felt really comfortable. The only time we put our heavier jackets on was for the tram ride back to the parking lot.

On our late June trip, I didn't like how hot it was, but it wouldn't stop me from going in the summer if that was my only choice.

That was us in the heavy winter jackets! That's how we can tell the locals from the out of towners! But really, any day in the parks is a good day.

The last 3 Dec we went it was very cold and it got us in the holiday spirit...I prefer the colder weather than suffering in the hot humid summer time
