WDW in November

Hi everyone!

This is my first time going to WDW, and we want to see it all decorated for Christmas. I know with Disneyland some weeks are way better then other due to crowds, park events, and calendar holidays. In Disneyland a few days after Thanksgiving and into early December the parks are not as crazy busy as a week or so before Xmas and into New Years. Is it similar with WDW or does WDW have any major park events going on during this time?

Yes, it's pretty the same. The Sunday after Thanksgiving through the beginning of Christmas week is slow to moderate (as far as crowds). Disney decorates mid November and all will be done by Thanksgiving weekend. If you go the week after Thanksgiving you will get to experience everything Christmas with much lower crowds.

We did the week after Thanksgiving 2 years ago and it was the best trip we've taken.

:woohoo: this is what I was hoping to hear!!! It only makes sense as a holiday is just over and the peak Xmas rush wouldn't have hit due to schools still being in.

We have gone the last 2 years in Nov...Both years the full week before thanksgiving week...2 years ago it was great no crowds, no waits, fully decorated, great weather....this past year everything was great but it was waaaayyyy more crowded but waits were never bad for any ride...

Here is a link to crowds during my 2009 trip...2010 looked nothing like this

Good info...we just got back from our first trip (well, my first, my wife's 2nd but first in many, many years) and I'm trying to finagle a trip back on the week you mentioned.

I was actually expecting no crowds last week, but it seemed busier than I would have thought. Nothing compared to summer though, I'm sure!!

It's funny. Even on the Disneyland California Dis thread it said the same thing. 09 was great, but 10 was busier then expected. I wonder if Disney just had something going on during that time.

Unfortunately, the week after Thanksgiving is no longer slow; I would call it moderate.

I have done it almost every year since 2000, and since the word got out it is such a good week to go - it has gotten progressly busier.

We were at WDW the full week before Thanksgiving! We loved it. It will be hard to return to our June trips.
