WDW in March?

We just returned from a 6 night trip at BCV. We had a great time but the temp was cool for swimming. The most we waited for a ride was 15 minutes and many were less than 5 minutes. This was one of our best trips.

Is March a good month for a trip? The guide books warn about crowds from spring break. How busy would the parks be at this time of year, and would spring break have much impact on a premium resort like the Beach Club?

Thanks

Last time we went was th first week in March - even though it was Mardi Gras and you're supposed to have a lot of people escaping New Orleans we did not think it was crowded. Liked it so much we planned this trip for the same time.

We had cool weather on a couple trips in Feb ( cool for FLA -we thought it was great compared to 2 feet of snow) so we've moved back to March and have had a great time. Just hard to wait longer to escape the cold.

Mardi Gras is a fun time at Port Orleans - they had small parades and a party on the grounds.

We'll be going in the first week of March this year and it will be the third time we have gone at this time. I have found the parks to be moderately crowded at most and expect it to be less this year, since Easter is in April. In addition, the weather is usually ideal and I am really looking forward to that. Especially considering that today we have had a foot of snow fall so far and they are still calling for another foot before it ends tomorrow night. This winter has really stunk.......bring on the warm Florida weather!

This will be my third trip in a row at Mardi Gras and have always found the crowds managable. Last year was a liitle more crowded because Mardi Gras and Presidents Day were a little close together.

I have been brave a scheduled a trip for this New Years Eve. I expect crowds levels to be slightly elevated. ;)

We've gone the 2nd week in March in 1999 and 2002. We found the crowds to be moderate and the weather perfect. With shorter park hours though we stayed in the parks from opening to close. 2002 was a bit more crowded than 1999 and all the parks seemed very congested between 2 and 5. However, with Easter being so late this year I bet the crowds would be a bit milder. We are trying June this year because of the longer park hours and discounts that are usually offered as well as reg season vs peak. Trade off is hot temps! We'll see how it goes! We've always loved March and had a great time (swam both times in the evening as well).
