How crazy will it be when my family goes, I have 2 sons, 8 and 5, and my wife. We are going July 16-23, 2006

Hoss23, I've always gone around late July because my wife is a teacher. I also have children around your kids age. I've never seemed to mind going that time of the year, but everybody has their own opinion on this. Many people hate going at this time. I've found that you have to get their before the park opens...get your fastpasses and get on as many rides as you can before 1pm. Then it does get very crowded and hot and you won't feel like doing anything and the waits for the rides will be quite long.

We are a 4th of July week family- I would guess it is much more crowded than when you are talking about. Yes it is HOT! But hello it is Florida. So if you are willing to take pool breaks- get up early- and be prepared for the late afternoon thunderstorm you will be fine. We have gone about 7 times in July so it can't be that bad..... :rotfl2:

We're a July family too. We've been there anywhere from July 1 - July 26th and we love it. We'll be there this year from July 14- 29. It's hot and crowded but everything is open late so if you get to the parks when they open, take an afternoon break and head back out at night you should be fine. Just get a good water/spray fan bottle and utilize fast pass - it will make your life easier.

Can you expand on the heat some and crowds. We are planning the end of June, first of July trip this year and would like some idea of the importance of a schedule at the parks. We are planning early entry and late nights with a break in the middle of the day. We will be having 10 days in WDW with only planning 7 days in the parks, 2 at water parks and 1 down day. Thank you!

We've gone june 22-July2 for as long as I can remember and love it. I wonder if you really need to do the water parks though. we did them one year and found it to be a hassle at best because of the unpredictability of the lightening/thunder storms. not to scare you at all, but it does rain hard in at least one of the parks every day in that time frame. it's not a big deal at the parks (just bring along 2-3 ponchos for each family member--they get used alot!) and you're fine. the water parks close for the duration and you just wait...wait...wait. Our kids were more than satisfied with the resort swimming and it's so much more convenient than dragging everything to a water park and back again. The park crowds are huge but thin out by 9-10pm when you can basically do anything you want as many times as you want. Knowing that may help you schedule your nap time and mid day resort break. We do our shopping during the heat of the day--browsing in the air conditioning is wonderful. and have our purchases sent to our resort rooms--they arrrive next day. Never have your purchases taken to the front of MK for pickup at the time you leave--the wait is truly a nightmare. Definitely do dining reservations at any meal you can this time of year. You will not be able to do walk ins. It will be hot, crowded, but WONDERFUL. we love it and we'll be back in WDW on June 22nd! :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsgirl:
