We did it! We booked our airfare, booked our points for VWL and VB, bought 2 huge bottles of 45 SPF sunscreen! :sunny:

Who else is on a mission to withstand the Florida heat and crowds at WDW?

I'm looking to book for July 19 or 20 - July 27 or 28. I'm looking to stay at the Dolphin and CBR or POFQ, 4 nights each. Maybe I'll see you there. :sunny:

WE will be brave together!!! Hee-hee!

We usually go in the Spring, but DH and I both recently started with new companies and had to wait to accumulate some vacation time!

It will be fun! We should wear little "DIS" username tags!

I still can't do it...you guys are very brave. Have fun and yes use the sunscreen!

So we will be there! I'm almost afraid to go to the parks. I went during Christmas one year and said never again, so I guess the parks are going to be just as crowded. Have fun everyone

We used to go in April when the kids were younger. The weather was perfect and the crowds were definitely manageable. Now that DD is in college and DS still in high school our vacation times do not match up. We are way overdue for a trip to WDW - we haven't been in about 5 years. So now I am trying to convince DH that we really should go this summer. Well everyone is in agreement that we could deal with it by doing the parks early, going back to the pool for the afternoon and then do a park in the evening...everyone except for DH. He is misearble in the summer and has lived in Florida growing up so he insists he would be miserable. I am still trying to convince him that we can make it work if we know what to expect and be as well prepared for it as we can. Any ideas in convincing DH? :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsgirl: :earsboy:

We'll be there. Booked our airfare on Southwest so had to change dates by a day. We'll be at the Nick hotel June 29 and 30 and at GF July 1-16. I can't wait. We load up on sunscreen, bottled waters and come armed with our water bottle/spray fans!

Everyone has different tolerances for heat, cold weather, standing/sitting too long, etc. Being prepared helps you tolerate things. So does positive thinking!

If you can somehow put a positive spin on it for him (eg. the opportunity to spend time together as a family especially since the kids are getting older and busier in their own lives, relaxing by the pool, the fact that at least it isn't 30 degrees or 8 inches of snow you'll have to shovel out of like it is today!!!).

Sending you pixie dust that your DH will look at the plusses rather than the thermometer! :goodvibes

Andrea...thanks for the pixie dust. You're exactly right being prepared and positive thinking is exactly the frame of mind one needs to go into this with. Even that same approach for myself and yet I'm very tolerable of the hot weather. But Florida in the middle of summer, in the middle of WDW... well I think it can push anyone's tolerance. But I am so much looking forward to it. And you're also right about the kid's getting older. We are very lucky they still want to go on vacation with us...yet alone WDW. So I think we need to take advantage of that also. DH is away this week...but this weekend I will have to work on my strategy.

we'll be there the 10th thru 26th. Air, car, and rooms booked (OKW & VB). This will be our first trip as DVC members. Can't wait.

Watch out World here we come. Myself and DD's 7 and 9 will be there sweatin it out and loving every minute of it. Pass the water bottle :drinking: and see you there.

I've booked my trip for July '05 and can't wait. This is my 3rd year in July and as long as I've Mickey, AC and cold drinks I'm good to go.

Doing our 1st summer trip June 29-July 9th at Wilderness Lodge. I was a bit nervous about crowds but my DH just keeps telling me "we are early risers, we will go early, leave when it is too crowded/hot and go back later". We booked 10 days so that we don't have to be commando's on any given day and to DS a day at the pool is perfectly fine. I think if we pace ourselves we will have a great trip!!

June 11 till July 31! Plenty of water and sunscreen already packed in the camper! I find that when we go to the MK at night (after 5:00) the kids still get to ride everything they want and the heat is more bearable. Last summer we stayed 3 weeks, and the last week was evening/night at the parks only and they still had a blast.
