Hi everyone
I have just been lurking and reading about all the information you all have to offer. Wow!There is so much to do and remember. I am going to be traveling with a 9 year old and a 6 year old both girls. My question to anyone that can help me is what kind of events do they have for right after Christmas? December 28th-January4th. We are staying at a time share about 5 minutes from DW.
I bought the passporter book and just started reading some of it.
I know that parks will be very crowded at that time so any advice would be appreciated.

TIA

I just wanted to welcome you to the boards! We were there at the same time in the year 2000. I didn't notice any special Christmas events, except for the decorations. There's enough going on in all the parks that we didn't need to plan anything else. On New Year's Eve, there's a great party at Pleasure Island, but you might not want to take your kids there. The parks might have some special New Year's fireworks, but I'm not sure.

We also stayed off site in a timeshare on our Christmas trip, and I would recommend getting to the parks very early--before opening. Otherwise, you will: a) sit in traffic for a long time, and b) not get into the park you want to go to. They close the parks to off-site guests when they are too full.

I would take the Day After approach when deciding what park to go to on what day. Go to the park the Day After it has Early Entry for on-site guests that way the on site guests will be at another park. Also avoid MK on Saturday.

Welcome to the DIS, Doreen, you'll love it here, so much to learn, and some fun along the way. Enjoy.

Cp is still running for a few days then, always a wonderful show.

The decorations are everywhere you look, make sure to take them in.

It is a wonderful time of the year, but also crowded, make sure to plan. You have a great guidebook, Paaporter, and are on a great site, the DIS. You'll learn a lot.

Thank you Dan and Sherri for the kind welcome and information about the DW.
