Hi,

This is our first DVC trip and will stay at BCV.

This year we are planning to go the WDW in the early part of Dec. We are arriving Sat night. Should we stay until the next Sun? If we leave on Friday, would be miss a lot of Christmas stuff to see?

Our kids will be 2 and 3. Since they are so small, does it matter to stay the extra days?

Thanks for all your wisdom pixiedust: pixiedust:

I don't think there is anything "special" to see on the weekends at Christmastime. Just be sure to to the Candlelight Processional & Mickey's Christmas Party during your trip. And pray for relatively warm weather...it can feel VERY cold at Disney in early December. Oh, and wander through the Osborne Lights some evening.

I like to stay longer with small children because you get more time to take it easy and let the little ones be little ones.

We love Disney at Christmas. The osborn spectacle of lites, the smell of cookies in the air as you walk down New York street with the fake snow falling, the Christmas parade. But, I have to say that Epcot really gets my heart at Christmas. The candle lit processioand the reading of the Christmas Story was very heartwarming. The christmas trees decked like nothing you have ever seen.

A warning though - Christmas at Disney is very additive!

We, too will be heading down in early December. We've never seen WDW duing the holiday season. From what I hear, if we go when there aren't huge crowds, and aren't trying to hit every ride, we will have plenty of time to appreciate all of the holiday offerings.

I've been to WDW in early December every year since 1998 - that's when I first visited during that time and I got hooked!

Anyway, the only thing that is different on the early December weekends compared to the early December weekdays is the crowd level - it's a lot busier on the weekends. I don't think you'll miss anything by leaving on Friday except the extra time.

Best wishes -

You'll enjoy your trip so much, you'll want to stay the extra nights. It's just a great time to visit WDW!!

Bobbi :)

Early December (this is when I'm going this year) is great. I like the Sunday through Friday since it allows me to avoid the weekend crowds. I've been there during Christmas and New Years (1999, 2000, 2001) at it was amazingly crowded and at times, very cold. The crowds are a given, but the temps can be dramatically different from day to day and year to year. Sometimes I can golf, sometimes I can't. The benefit of the Sun-Thurs is that you'll be able to see and do almost eveything you want to do with the youngens.

We are going this year also, for the second time, My children will be 6 and 3, when they went the first time they were 4 and not quite 2. You may want to stay the extra days so that you can have a little down time in between the fun, we found that things moved a little bit slower with small children and that we had very little time to spend at the pool and other rec activities. Anyway you choose to do it, they will be in awe and enjoy every minute of it.
The Saturday after Thanksgiving is crowded and then the lines are not so bad until right before Christmas! princess: :simba: :stitch: :sulley:
