WDW Half Marathon Bib # List 2009

My numbers are 34065 for the half and 8437 for the full.

Egomaniac that I am, I submited a 2:01 proof of time. :rolleyes1
I am thinking like Robert about the bib numbers starting higher this year. It really doesn't matter to me anymore since my training has been so completely derailed. Its just a head start on the sweepers for me now.

Cecilia

Cecilia: Oh don't worry, if I happen to catch up to you by some miracle of fate, I'll be sure to keep you moving and finish without being swept!!

Need to add my parents who I will be running with

gsu1988 Dad - 39023
gsu1988 Mom - 39024

Vickey: I am never sure of Disney's (or trackshack) thinking. I think you can check on the website if you had submitted your time or needed to submit. I am not sure how they are lining up people. Don't worry too much about it though, your chip time starts when you start regardless of anything else. It will be crowded at the beginning no matter what corral your in. I was placed in the 2 wave last corral at DL 1/2 this summer even though I specifically checked the walker box????
When all else fails, bring the proof with you to the EXPO and go over the runner's relations after picking up your bib and they will change it if so needed.

Tracy

Who knows?!? I would think they placed you according to your 10K time cause I'm 35200 and I sent in a 2:23 time. You have a smaller number and you originally sent in a 2:40... Looks like they got your 10K time. :confused3

Thanks for the replies ladies! I'm thinking that my 10K time is a little too ambitious for the 1/2 and I'll probably be finishing along the lines of 2:15-2:30. I'll see what happens when I get there - I'm just worried about getting in the way of the faster runners.

My Bib numbers:

5K: 72

HALF MARATHON: 46698

MARATHON: 11488

If you used a DVC paper race application, it was wrong that you only had to have proof for a sub 2:15. It was supposed to be 2:45. See email below from Steve@trackshack.com .

Our employees did not misread your applications, but instead, the form for Cast Members/DVC Members was released with the wrong time for the half marathon. We are using 2:45 instead of 2:15 for the half marathon, so that is why your corrals and numbers were assigned the way they were. As Annie mentioned in her email below, race numbers and packets have been assigned and put together for the events. Your bib numbers with your names on them have been printed. When you go to pick up your packets at the Goofy Challenge booth, let them know that you need to change your corral for the half marathon and they will direct you to us at Runner Relations. If there is a line at Runner Relations, come over to the side of those booths and get me.

Sorry for the confusion and please make note that 5:00 and 2:45 will continue to be used going forward.

Thanks,

Steve

I know that have the different corrals w/ the varying start times, but how do you line inside the corral? I've only had experience w/ the 5K and the Minnie 15K.

Thanks!

I'm #37365. :scared: Guess this means I really have to do it now! :scared1:

Yes, you do. You have to show your bib to be allowed in as this stops people from moving up into another corral. You can move back without issue.

I think I'm #45206. I can't get my waiver to download all the way, however. So frustrating!

Stacie you can be in your corral or any corral behind that, just not move up a corral. Everyone just mingles around the the corral, it is usually a big long retangular area with those crowd control fences around it. The early you get in your corral the close to the front of that corral you can get.

What should happen is folks should "self select" In other words faster people in a corrall near the front, slow folks like me near the back. What happens is what Tracy says... first come first serve. Which means that if you are slow and you get in front... you might get run over. Me, I am slow and know it so I tend to move back LOL! I don't find it enjoyable to be trampled LOL!

I'm 44180, and my husband (Tom) is 44179.

I didn't remember to send in my proof of time when they asked for it. Is this something I need to be prepared to do at the Expo, or do they take my word about my pace? I guess I'm not 100% clear on the relationship between my bib number and my expected finishing time for this race. TIA for any clarification.

Kira It's my first half, but here's what I interpret things to be....

You can bring proof of time to the Expo (runner relations) and they will change your start corral (which we haven't been given yet--will get at expo) Looks like the numbers issued so far relate (somewhat) to expected finish time-although I know I'm not faster than a few who have numbers after mine! I would expect your number would stay the same, at this point. Here's what it says on the web site:

"If you believe you will finish the Half Marathon less than 2:45 hours and the Marathon less than 5:00 hours, proof of time is required.
Acceptable forms of proof of time are either a photocopy of finisher's certificate or a print out of race results. All forms of proof of time must be from a marathon, half marathon or any race 10K or longer, after July 1, 2006. If you do not provide of time you will be placed in the last start corral. Corral placement is based on proof of time. If you are registered for Goofy's Race and a Half Challenge and did not provide proof of time, you will need to bring that proof of your estimated finish time to the Runner Relations booths after you pick up your race number and ChampionChip at the Health and Fitness Expo on Thursday, January 8, Friday, January 9, or Saturday, January 10, 2009. If no proof of time is provided, you will be placed in the last start corral. "

Hope that helps.

In each wave, there are 3 waves, is aprox 5-6 thousand people with the last wave having the most people and then there are probably 6 corrals. Aprox 2 corrals start in each wave. Your number just helps to put you in your corral and/or wave. There will be people faster and also slower than you in your wave and in your corral. Remember that people who have never done a 10k or more will all be put in the back. Just remember that if you are slow you should stay to the right, this is just good race ettiquete. You should pass on the left and let the person know you are passing them. If you are a runner/walker move over to the right as you start you walking so the person behind you doesn't have to stop dead in there tracks and/or run you over. If you have to spit or blow a snot rocket (yuk!!) please go totally over to the side and do it in the grass, no one wants to get your bodily fluids all over them.
Please, Please, Please at the water/powerade stations stay to the side if you are def slowing down or stopping. If you don't drink all the fluids please go over to the left or right side the throw the liquid out of the cup off to the side and then please toss your cup all the way to either left or right sides - leaving the middle racing area clear of debris!!!!! NO one wants to slide or trip over cups dropped in the road!!

I will be out of town until Sunday (visiting Mickey before Jan!) So, keep posting your bib numbers and I'll update again on Sunday when I get back!!!
