I have never been able to get an answer on this. Seems they are so new, not a lot of people know about them. I did have one lady warn me to be sure I don't get a plain old Disney Store Card because they won't work in WDW.

Here's the scoop. WDW gift cards do not expire and they are reloadable. Hope that helps!

I think you can buy them in the gift shops - I bought one at the Grand Floridian shop that is located next to the Grand Floridian Cafe. The one I bought was on the counter next to the registers.

I called Disney Merchandising and ordered one for our past Dec. trip. We used it to prepay for our meals. They do ship certified mail, so be prepared to sign for them. You cannot reload them from home. They can only be reloaded at WDW. Shipping I think was 3.95.

They are available in every shop in DTD and at Guest Services.

They're also available for purchase in just about any gift shop throught WDW property. I bought one for my mom in MouseGear in Epcot (they were also located next to the registers there).

One more questions -

Does anyone know if these are replacable if lost or stolen?

They will give you a receipt when you buy the card that has the card number on it. If you should lose the card, they would be able to look it up from the card number on the receipt and determine the balance. I am just guessing, but I would think they would cancel the lost card and replace it with a new one with the remaining balance amount. If you do not have a receipt, there would be no way for them to look the card up. It does not have a name associated with it.

WDW Gift Cards are like cash. You need to be very careful with them.

Hi Everyone
Besides using these gift cards for meals and souvineers, what else can you use them for? Can they be used to pay off your room? We got a $100.00 gift card from American Express and we were told the American Express gift cards can not be used towards hotel stays,they can only be used towards merchandise and restaurants.
