Hi I am a larger person and was wondering if anyone on the boards is also larger and has any info about weight restrictions or any rides that I might not be able to ride or small seats in shows??? Thanks.

I am not a larger person, however my Mom is. Before we took our Family trip to Disney (me, DH, DS 13, DS 2, MIL, FIL, and my Mom) I wanted to find some information regarding the size restrictions etc. I suggest you look at http://allearsnet.com/tp/ridsiz.htm . This is the best information I have been able to find. Hope it helps.

When I went in January of 2002, I was 6'2", 352 pounds, and had a 54 inch waist. I had absolutely no trouble fitting into anything. A few things required a bit of grace to get in and out of without making a spectacle - like Space Mountain. But I had no problems with anything else.

You'll have a FANTASTIC time! They really are very accomodating of larger folks at Disney World.

I read some of the allnears , it helps some , but I am really hippy so thought maybe some others out there could tell me more. Thanks for the help.

Hi cannonballer!

Even though I'm a guy, I am extremely hippy. Even since I've lost the weight, my fiancée (and me too!) hates my hip bones cause they're so freakishly large! :)

You really won't have a problem. The only "problems" I had were at the coasters with bucket seats. (The kind where there's a special space for each person's butt - and not just a general bench type of seat) That would be Space Mountain and Rock 'n Roller Coaster. Although I had some trouble getting in and out of the cars without looking like a complete fool, I had NO problems actually fitting.

Hi, I just got back and as Dan said, most of the rides are ok, if not better than OK. He is right. Go and have fun. You will be surprised to see how many people of size are there!!! And, it was a lot easier then I expected.

On Space mountain, ask the CM where is the best seats for a person your size. I did that, and she directed me to certain rows-- when I went back to her and said "they look small" she said "trust me" - I did and it was fine.

Rocknroller coaster- hard to get in/out of, and the shoulder bar did not go as far down as some others, but it locked fine and the seat was also OK

Test track- pull the seatbelt all the way out and then sit- the belts are plenty big. More room on the end seats vs the middle

kali river- smaller seat belts- sit alone or go w/ someone significantly smaller ( a kid ) and you will be fine

Drew Carey seats: SMALLEST of all. I made it but it was a tight fit. The other theatre seats were better, but not great. You can do it but might not be that comfy.

ToT: pull the seat belt out b/4 sitting- seats are big enough

Splash mountain was the hardest fit for me. Uncomfortable and hard to get in/out, but again, I did it.

Hope this helps.
