Hi! First time on this forum and our first trip to WDW. My husband and I are bringing our children, ages 7 and 8, Feb 12-16. We are staying at the value movies resort, have the new Magic Your Way package with park hopper option and dining option. Have no idea where/what to plan. I know the kids would enjoy a character meal, and one of the evening parades/fireworks, but with just three full days and one half day I don't think we can fit in all four parks. Any advice will be greatly appreicated. Thanks!!

My suggestion is to get an Unofficial Guide to WDW at the public library or go buy one. It describes the rides, restaurants and entertainment. Then you can decide what things you all HAVE to do and the things you can do if you have time. Every family is different. Some people say to skip Epcot but that's my son (age 8) and my favorite park. I would skip either MGM or Animal Kingdom. Look at the Guide and see what things your family wants.

What are your kids favorite characters? Make sure to plan a meal around them. Make sure to relax and enjoy the parks; don't try to do everything. Remember, you're on vacation, so relax! :)

My kids are about the same age, so, let me think, you have 3 restaurants and 3 counters?

Hmm, my daughter still loves the Cinderella Bfst at the Castle. If you can't get that one, the Princess bfst (and now it's char. lunch and dinner, too) at Norway's Akershus Restaurant in Epcot was one that they enjoyed.

Ohana's dinner is good for little ones, too.

Oh, I just thought of one...Whispering Canyons at The Wilderness Lodge. You can take a boat over from MK or from the Contemporary,so they'll enjoy that. Plus, the meals there are raucous--games, etc. If you ask for ketchup, the waitor shouts, "Ketchup" and everyone in the restaurant brings their bottles to you. There are also "horse" races and the waitors will make you "hats" to wear.

Chef Mickey's food is awesome and, of course, the characters are there, too.

For AK, Pizzafari is a counter restaurant that the kids will love--the food and the surroundings.

To fit in all of the parks in 3 1/2 days, go to AK in the morning and then MGM that afternoon, especially if MGM has one of the late nights that Disney offers now.

Then, use a day for MK and a day for Epcot. The 1/2 day, reserve for MK again. With kids that age, they'll want MK most of all.

Also, if you finish a park, go eat and rest at hotel, then visit the park that has the late night option that night.

Have fun!

Plan to use all your restaurant vouchers for dinners rather than breakfasts. That way you can get to the park at opening time each day and get a lot of stuff done before it gets more crowded. Then head back to your hotel in the afternoon to relax. Definitely use the extra magic hour options since the parks will not be open very late.

With 3 1/2 days you will be able to visit every park but maybe not get on every ride. Those dates in Feb should not be too crowded since it's not Presidents Day week.

I agree with bananiem's suggestion. The unofficial guide to WDW is great. Look it over before you go. Write down the attractions you most want to see at each park and focus only on them. This way you will already have a plan & you won't be wasting time. I suggest booking a character breakfast at Magic Kingdom. The Crystal Palace is nice. They have Pooh, tigger, Piglet & eyore visiting each table. Have a wonderful vacation!
