Reading it right now, echo the emphasis on adult fiction, its a cyberpunk style novel, in the mode of Neuromancer by William Gibson or Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson. Amazingly, I'm listening to Snow Crash right now, started it a few years ago and didn't get far, enjoying it this time. Down and Out has a reference to a "Snow Crash Parade" in the MK, with Japanese rapper Sushi-K and Hiro Protagonist, one of the main characters of Snow Crash. Just one of those amazing little synchronicities of life. Anyway, I am enjoying Down and Out, great little book as I'm going crazy for my 1st trip this coming week.

I just bought "Kingdom Keepers" at Borders last weekend. It's a good book and quick read for adults. My 9 yr old daughter is going to read over Christmas break..
*Afterwards, you'll never look at "It's a Small World" the same again.

True stories of cast members and things they did to keep themselves entertained. Like parking all the white cars in one section of the lot so when people returned to their car they couldn't find it

I really enjoyed Kingdom Keepers.....Maleficent had me really freaked out...I think if I ever see her walking around the parks now I definitely be going the other way!

I got Kingdom Keepers at my Borders by the way.....they have a great thing on their website, where you can actually check the inventory of your local store for a title to see if it's in stock....I LOVE that inventory search, I use it all the time!

Didn't the author of Kingdom Keepers write another book...something about Peter Pan? I want to give that one a try too.

Pearson cowrote Peter and the Starcatchers with David Barry. It is a prequel to Peter Pan. I just bought it but haven't read it yet. I have read Kingdom Keepers and now I can't wait to go back to WDW and ride It's a Small World and PoC!! I don't EVEN want to come across Maleficent!! Her first appearance in the book freaked me out!!!

So funny to find this thread...I write fiction professionally so now I'm thinking I should write one about Disney sometime...however, I write mostly gothic stories so it'd have to take place in the Haunted Mansion, Snow White, or else Pirates of the Caribbean somewhere

Mouse Tails is a very good book, lots of interisting stories about the early days at Disneyland.

I have The Imagineering Field Guide to the Magic Kindgom and love it! It is so interesting to hear a lot of behind the scenes information. I have heard that they are working on one for EPCOT and another one for Animal Kingdom. Too cool!

They are both VERY interesting (like reading the best stories in this forum!)

You might try Dreamworld (by Jane Goldman), a mystery/cover-up-at-a-"fictional"-Orlando-theme-park novel. Dreamworld is pretty much WDW, but the characters talk about other real-life Orlando parks, including WDW, which is interesting. And I believe many scenes are set in real-life locations. It's not the best written book in the world, but it's a fast and entertaining read. And for Disney+They Might Be Giants fans, it's a must.

I got partway through Down and Out, but it's just too depressing! Does it ever get better?

The title is The Mystery at Walt Disney World. It was written by Carole Marsh. The list price is 5.95.
I just typed "Mystery at Walt Disney World" in the search and it popped up.

By the way the book is harmless completely fun kids mystery. Nothing too weird or scary.

So it would be ok for my 9 y/o DD? I just ordered it, so I hope so. If not I'll read it. I also ordered the Imagineering Field guide and WDW trivia book. I miss Disney.
