I think it was posted on these boards before, but there is a ring cemented in the ground outside the exit of the Haunted Mansion. Many people stop to take a look at it, thinking someone dropped their ring.

Our KTTK tour guide showed us the ring and told us it was considered part of the ride by the Imagineers. He said it was part of the story: that after Madame Leota killed Cece and Master Grayson didn't turn to her, that she got angry, rushed up to the attic, yanked the ring from Cece's finger, and flung it out the window. Also if you take the chicken exit (same place where KTTK guests enter) there is a rack of keys. There are keys there to every room, except the attic where Cece's body is hid. There is also a hidden Donald on the back of a chair in the haunted mansion ride. Two imagineers created the HM and one wanted you to see ghosts, but the other just wanted you to wonder if you did. Consequently in the first part of the ride you see moving eyes and wonder if someone is watching you, but on the second half you truly see the ghosts.

Did you know that Walt, Lillian, Roy, and even Roy's wife all died in the month of December?

Tink gets dressed every night in Walt's apartment, then climbs the narrow stairs to the top of the castle where she is hooked to the cable and then two men push her out the window. She must be pushed or else she won't have enough speed to make it to the mattress she lands into at the end (on top of a building in the backstage area) where two more men unhook her. If she doesn't have enough speed then she must pull herself hand over hand along the cable until the men can reach her and get her down. The old Tink (a 95 lb Romanian gymnist) recently retired and they have hired another one along with two substitutes to fly on her nights off or in case she gets sick. Tink gets paid for an eight hour shift for the few seconds flight everynight.

The reason Walt's name is last on the buildings on Main Street. MK is set up like a stage production with the train station serving as the curtain. The names on main street are the credits. The producer is the one whose name is always listed last, thus Walt is last, as he was considered the producer.

There are people who have worked at WDW since they first opened and the department with the longest tenures is laundry.

Snow White and Ariel, even when they are off duty are not allowed to get a tan. Snow White because she must have white skin and Ariel because mermaids can't have tan lines. Cinderella has certain makeup colors (eyeshadows and blush) that no other character is allowed to wear.

The big tree in Liberty Square used to be somewhere else on property. Walt saw it and said he wanted that tree to be his Liberty Tree. Even after he died they dug the tree up and moved it by truck to the MK. On the way it fell off and several limbs on the right side were broken. If you look you can see where the limbs were grafted back on.

That President Carter was originally wearing a brown suit (which he frequently did during his administration). Mrs Carter came to WDW and saw the Hall of Presients and decided her husband looked dowdy next to the other presidents, so when she went home she sent them one of his blue suits. Hilary Clinton also approved Bill Clinton's suit for the Hall of Presidents. The Hall of Presidents is the only place outside Washington DC that has the Presidential Seal displayed and WDW had to get permission to do so.

The Tree of Life has 102,583 leaves. Each is over a foot long, was attached by hand, & actually blows in the wind. Some are transparent, while others are one of five different shades of green. The tree is 145 feet tall.

Did you know that in the Haunted Mansion there are two Hidden Mickey's.

The most popular one is the way plates are set up on the table in the Ballroom Scene. This Hidden Mickey was created by CM's. Overnight, maintenace would put it back to "normal" until they finally gave in because the CM's kept putting the plates back to the Hidden Mickey. Now, the plates are glues together in the HM form.

There's another HM in the graveyard. There's a crypt to your right that is right next to the Opera Ghosts. In that crypt is a ghost. That ghost's left hand is a HM.

I can't post the URL. But look in HiddenMickeys. org for the pictures.

The one on the table changes! We were there last summer and rode the HM twice. I noticed that there was a hidden Mickey with the plates the first time we rode. When we went back a couple of days later and I tried to show the husband were I saw it before it was gone or at least moved to a different spot on the table. ( I thought I was cracking up and so did he!)

Did you know no guests under 16 is allowed in the tunnel system because it would bother children, seeing two Goofys passing each other, Mickey without a head, seeing Minnie eating with Snow White, and ruin the magic.

I wonder when this took effect. I was about 10 (which was 18 years ago) when my family got to take a tour of all the "underground" tunnels. We were sitting on the porch at the little grocery type store at the Wilderness campgrounds and this squirrel came up out of no where and for no reason bit my step dad's hand.

They took really good care of us even though we knew that it wasn't Disney's fault and after the stitched him up and took care of him they took us on a tour of these tunnels.

I was young enough to not really remember a whole lot which is a shame because I am sure it was neat.

It actually took an act of congress to have the seal placed in the Hall of Presidents!

They must have just recently glued them together, because on my last trip in November 2004, the first time we went the mickey was there, the second time, two days later, it was not!
