So, we are planning a trip to CA and Disneyland. We are just researching all there is to know about Disneyland and would love to hear yolur best tips for us newbies to Disneyland? We think we want to stay at Grand Californian. What's your advice? Thanks.

How many in your party? We stayed at the GCH last month and I absolutely loved it. It is a stunning hotel with great service. There were just three of us though.

Happy planning. DLR is so different from WDW but has its own magic.

Be sure to look for the lamp that is always on in Walt Disney's apartment above the firehouse.

And ride Indy!

DW vets and we went to DL just this past yr. between Christmas and New Year. I was being a DW snob and of course was always comparing the two. Much to my surprise...I really enjoyed DL and what it had to offer. In fact several of the rides I thought that DL did a much better job vs. DW. Also the fact that Walt, himself had a big hand in planning at DL.

Downtown DL was smaller then World...however, we did not feel like it had to be any bigger there, just the right size. We now love both DW and DL!!!! Same but different in a good sorts of way.

We also stayed at both the DLH and GC hotel. Different themes and thought that GC reminded us of WL at DW. At DL for our 3 nights...our room was in the Sierra building high floors...every night we got to see DL fireworks...then at the GC we got upgraded to the CA view and we welcomed in the New Year with live music and fireworks from Disney right on our balcony. Teen age kids thought it was FABO!!!:woohoo:
