I think people notice things that are closed, or still "currently unavailable" or various cutbacks that are felt as staffing being lower than pre-covid.
If you're saying that people fixate on 3 or 4 actual reductions and incorrectly assume that resort-wide staffing is "not even close" to pre-covid, then I guess I agree. Emphasis on "incorrectly assume."
Your comment about menus being smaller looks like bunk to me. I've got copies of a handful of Disney restaurant menus from 2005 in old vacation planning files, including places like Sci Fi and Plaza Restaurant. And those menus have the same item count today (9-10 entrees) as they did almost 20 years. ago. Prices are obviously much higher, and some of the more premium menu items have been eliminated--which is more a function of the Disney Dining Plans than anything else. But these are Disney restaurants, not Cheesecake Factory.
Many ticket booths aren't staffed because they aren't needed. The days of walking up to the park and buying a ticket are gone. Most people are buying in advance, online. That's why you never (rarely) see a line at the booths that remain.
Table service restaurant waitstaff jobs are among the most sought-after at WDW. A family of 4 spending $200 on dinner = $40 tip. Hypothetically, even if Disney is deliberately short-staffing some restaurants, it's only because there are so many other options available. Right now, there are more than SEVENTY-FIVE restaurants with ADRs available for dinner tonight. 75 restaurants with staff and tables to serve more guests.
There are plenty of places to eat. Walking past Ohana and seeing two empty tables doesn't make for some grand conspiracy to lessen peoples' vacation experience.
We could have a similar conversation about things like Tomorrowland Terrace and Tortuga Tavern. Yeah, I sort of miss them being open. I even joke with family members about them never being open. But if you can order from Cosmic Rays, Pecos Bills, Columbia Harbor House and others, and get the food within 5-10 minutes, there's no reason to have other venues available. It's wasted capacity.
