These are rumors but I'm pretty sure the source is very reliable.

ThemeParkOne, a Twitter user and apparent Disney insider that periodically holds "Question and Answer" sessions regarding the future of Disney Theme Parks. Tonight's questions focused mainly on the future of Walt Disney World Entertainment after his comments that Steve Davison is working in Walt Disney World as discussed in our Fantasmic! Refurbishment? Thread.

The following is a recap of these discussions. A couple details are taken from the same person's posts on the WDWMagic forums.:

Updates to entertainment in Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and Disney's Hollywood Studios are being worked on. From these discussions we have been told that the MK and DHS entertianment updates have indeed been greenlighted and the projects will proceeed. The Epcot project seems as though it will happen one way or another, though WDW Mangement and WDI are debating wether to upgrade the show or to replace it.

First, we will discuss the Magic Kingdom update. A new parade would replace the current Celebrate a Dream Come True Parade. The new parade would be called Festival of Fantasy. It would feature new, large and unexpected floats. Music is still being worked on. The parade would debut in May or Early Summer of 2011.

Next, rumors of highly awaited upgrades to Fantasmic! at Disney's Hollywood Studios, an aging show that pales in comaparison to its Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySEA cousins. The new show with a slightly different name would combine new show scenes with aspects of the shows in Disneyland and Tokyo. There would be no Pixar characters and the show would still
focus on Mickey, but with a twist. This would debut in April/May, which could be why the show disappears from the schedule January 4, 2012.

Finally, the Epcot update, which would focus on Illuminations. WDI wants a new show while WDW Management wants some updates. They are debating this and should they reach an agreement,we may see the results of it in late 2012 or early 2013.

We would like to remind everyone that these are rumors that can change or never materialize. However these rumors fit in to the needs of the Resort and come from what may be a credible source.

The D23 Expo is in about a month, and it is possible that these new entertainment options
may be reavealed then among other announcemnts for Walt Disney World according to ThemeParkOne. Stay with DK for updates on these rumors and the potentially exciting D23 Expo and the future of Walt Disney World.

Source is some guy in Twitter? For reals? But he's reliable? Any idea what his track record is that makes him so reliable?

Not that any of these predictions seem to be outrageously daring or anything.

The people that work in entertainment are VERY tight lipped about updates, and aren't willing to risk their job over it. I have a couple of friends that work on things like this, and they won't even tell me much, and the stuff I have heard, I have been forbidden to tell. Haha! But, like someone said before, the listed are things that are kind of needed around the World. I know there was one rumor floating around about Wishes being replaced next year, but I have been told that is NOT true.

There have been a lot of rumors about a "new" day parade for the 40th in Oct. I have been told that there will be some tweaks to CADCT but not a whole new parade.

Look for Wishes to "probably / possibly" to be "integrated / blended" with a revised MMY for 2012.

I Love fantasmic, but I have not seen the others that are better, so I say bring on something new and exciting, evolving the shows and things over time, is a great idea in my book.
