For those of you who have done WDW at Christmastime, is there a difference in attendance for the week of Christmas vs the week after Christmas?? Considering it this year and not sure if one week may be better than the other in terms of crowds. Also, any info you would like to share for WDW at the holidays would be awesome. I should mention that this would be our first trip to WDW (DLR several times new to WDW!).

Thank you!:goodvibes

The week before is a much better choice than the week between Christmas and New Year--it is packed that week between Christmas and New Year. We went during that time once and will never go then again. It took us over an hour to get out of the Epcot parking lot after Illuminations (and that was after we had already gotten to the car).

I went this past Christmas from 12/17 - 12/29. I was REALLY nervous for obvious reasons. I decided to spend the $20 and subscribe to TourGuide Mike. It was the best $20 I spent on the trip. I never encountered huge crowds (well, one night for Spectro & Wishes wasn't the greatest but it wasn't what I'd consider busiest week of the year crowd for sure) or long waits. I'm sure others did, but I knew how to tour based on TGM advice which I followed to the letter. I'm now a TGM fan for life. I'll never worry about high seasons again.

It got progressively busier day by day. If you have a choice between the week before and the week after Christmas, the week before would be better. If you're only choosing the week before because you're worried about crowds the week after and you'd actually prefer the week after then book the week you really want and subscribe to TGM. You won't regret the $20.

Went from Dec16-22 this year and it was way too crowded. I especially would have been disappointed if it was our first trip. There is just way to many people compared to other times so I would say go another time or perhaps in early Dec. The decorations were alright but the crowds did not make up for the difference. I actually thought Disney would be decorated about 100x more than it was so if you are going for the decorations just go to the mall or other holiday display.
