what type of person are you? are you a WDW kind of person or a DLR kind of person. explain...

me personally, i'm DLR... it's where i've gone mos of the time and it's where i'm going to work

WDW because I havent been to DLR since I was 3 and I dont remember anything

I like DLR soooo much better. It's way more magical, but also a lot smaller.

Personally i'm more of a WDW person.
we went to DLR for christmas it was fun of course but i missed WDW.
i guess it's because i grew up going to Florida.

DLR FTW

Soo much more magical, and i love thats its soo small cuz you can park hope in like 2 minutes :)

Also, less crowds throught the year, and original rides :)

I don't know about "way more," but it was designed just by Walt, so it has his personal touch more than WDW does. However, I think WDW has more up-to-date high technology attractions. So I think they're even!

WDW, yes I'm biased because I've never been to DLR.

From my understanding DLR is small and surrunded by non disney places (which makes it lose some magic). WDW is big and theres so much to do, the only thing I think WDW could add is something lke California Adventure, that'd be cool:)

WDW. I've never been to DLR, so I have no opinion on it.

when im at DLR i dont see anything just disney.

its like the city surrounding us dissapears, its really magical.:cutie:

DLR actually has a higher proportion of rides. In two parks it fits 67 rides while WDW has four parks and fits 70 something rides, and ironically DLR is never as crowded as WDW despite less free space.

DLR :)
I dont know if its because thats the first Disney park I ever went to or what but I just absolutely love it
Its way less crowded even when you go the busy times of the year... (Believe me I've been Memorial Day Weekend, Mothers Day Weekend, and the First Week of June...)
There a magic to it you just cant get anywhere else
I realize that yes there are non-Disney hotels across the street *gasp* but we have never stayed at a Disney hotel like many...
We still fill the magic and can just tell its Disney
Everyone is in on the act even the not Disney hotels

Everything I know about DLR my dad told me, he was there once and HATED it. He said that there were way too many non-disney resorts and restaurants located pretty close to the parks compared to WDW which is surrounded by forests then you get to the outside world.

Someday I hope to make it to DLR myself

WDW. Although I've never been to DL so I can't really compare.

The non disney resorts make no difference really. They are actually better than the disney resorts themselves, and way cheaper. I always stay at the marriott and every room has disney frames on the wall.. way coool.

The "non-Disney" hotels are actually sponsored by Disney. Those hotels have Disney themed rooms.
You cannot see "the outside world". Disney strategically places it's attractions so that you don't think of anything else.
It's not too crowded either, although filled with locals.

Yes, it's small but guess what? It has more Walt Disney personal touches than WDW.

Well, I'm so much closer to WDW. I used to live in central Florida, so we went there a lot. I've only been to DLR a few times. I appreciate the history (though DL is somewhat of a disappointment after WDW's Main Street and castle). There are different things I prefer at each park. I personally think WDW employees do a better job of efficiently filling the ride cars (I waited in line for Alice in Wonderland forever watching cars with two people go by.... WDW employees would've packed it full!). However, I love how at DLR you can just walk from park to park and from the park to the resort - even offsite resorts (then again, I love all of the options you have at WDW). And the attractions.... I prefer POTC, HM, it's a small world, the Tiki Room (classic!), and Space Mountain at DL. I love how IaSW and HM are themed for the holidays. I wish they did that at WDW!

That's one of the things i love about DL. You can have privacy! I wouldnt want to ride with strangers in a dark ride like Alice.

Well I want to get through the line faster, so I prefer it when they pack the cars. The twosomes can sufffer! :rotfl:

I've only ever been to wdw, and hopefully soon we'll get a chance to go to dlr. So, obviously, im a wdw person. I've read alot of articles about wdw vs dlr, and I can see your main points like dlr is just more magical because walt created it and has all the original rides, but I also feel like it seems really close to the outside world. When I go to wdw, it kinda feels like you stepped onto another planet because you don't really worry about the outside world so much. All you see is Disney, and its so huge and everything is themed perfectly and everyone is incredibly nice. I can't wait to visit dlr though, even though I'll miss wdw.

DLR might be magical because it was created by Walt himself.

However, Walt planned WDW. And in those plans, he intended for it to be called Disney World. And because Roy Disney loved his brother so much, after Walt's death, he completed Walt's plans and even renamed the park Walt Disney World so that everyone would know whose dream it was. That, to me, is magical.

WDW definitely feels "Disney", but it's not as...wonderous, as Disneyland itself. I think that's because it is so big. DLR is smaller, it's more "tight-knit", the magic is always there. That's not to say it's not in WDW, but this Disney feeling in Florida is lost when it has it's own freaking zip code!
