If any deals come out for 2015 I'm thinking about booking up for late 2015, which is a longggggggggg way away. Going to look at do it yourself for the first time ever. Anyhow if I book up I'm just trying to work out my "risk". So if I book through Walt Disney World what deposit do I pay and how long before I travel is the balance due.

Just for info hope to fly VA so will get onto them as soon as flights are available. Going to stay in a villa for 10 (with one night at universal) or so nights then hopefully disney for another 10 or so which means we should have plenty of flex in our planning.

It's £50 pp low deposit.

I don't know exactly, but I think the balance is due around 10 weeks before travel.:)

I'm not expert but it's a £50 pp deposit for hotel/ticket or £150 pp deposit if flights are included in the booking. If you are booking for late 2015 I don't think you'd be able to add flights on until 11months out when they are released!

The balance is 8 weeks before if flights/cruise not included. And I think 3 months before when a flight/cruise part is involved :)

Great thanks. Yes spoken to VA and flights not out for a long time. Going to book them separately as hope to use miles.

Great that s a good deposit...worth the "risk" of having to change our plans

like others have said its £50pp - However, note that any changes can be charged £50 ie change of dates or number of persons. Unfortunately this affected us when my mum couldn't come, she lost her deposit and we were then charged £50 because our package was now cheaper than the original package - so all in all £100!

As others have said the deposit with WDTC is £50 per person (without flights) or £150 per person if you book flights. You won't be able to book flights at the time you want to book because flights do not become available until 11 months before departure (through WDTC) although Virgin do have flights bookable if you book with them.

My question would be, are you planning on getting a villa for 10 on Disney? You'd be looking at a 2 or 3 bedroom villa at a DVC resort if that is the case. If you're planning for an off-site villa, WDTC are not typically the cheapest option for that.
