They're finally going to build some semi-perm. structures for the security bag checks. I was told on Saturday, but I only work on the weekends, so I'm not sure if they've started yet (I think they were supposed to start some time this week). Traffic through that section of the entry plaza will be modified slightly during the construction process (they're doing one side at a time).

Also, Mitsukoshi department store at Epcot's Japan pavillion is half done. It looks much more modern, with better lighting. Very open feeling (and it smells better too)... The rest of the store should be finished by April.

Thanks Steve.

My daughter mentioned this to me just this afternoon!! I asked her how it will be designed, but she said she wasn't sure. Do you know?

There might be a memo with plans in the office when I get there on saturday, there might be a FAQ sheet, there might be nothing. I don't know. If I can get a good idea of what it'll look like (I'm guessing it'll be somewhere between the entry plaza canopies and the temporary tents), I'll be sure to post that information.

As an addendum to the original post (I can't believe I forgot to type this...) Fort Wilderness has a new sign. It looks more like the Wilderness Lodge signange, very rustic. So far, just the entrance closest to the MK toll plaza has a new sign, but the rest should be replaced soon.

I love that entrance archway. It should look pretty sharp. Thanks Steve for the update.

That would probably explain the land surveys they were doing along the walkway from the bus stops when I was down there earlier this month.

Is it true that the store in Japan will have a booth for Saki tasting? I love Saki!!!

Oh, no! What will happen to the bricks at the MK entrance? Those security tables are right over my brick.

1) I know that the Japan booth at the Food and Wine festival usually offers Saki, and I think it may be available at Mitsukoshi Restaurant, but I have heard nothing about Saki tasting at the store.
2) Humbug, you raise an interesting question. I'm sure there is a very good answer floating around somewhere. If it's not available on a well-placed memo, I'm sure that I can ask a manager.
3) Not construction, really... but the ATM machines were recently changed from SunTrust to BankOne. This happened about 2 weeks ago, and I didn't see it mentioned anywhere, so I thought I'd spread the word.

All the parks must be changing because Sea World did the same thing.

The new bag-check areas will occupy a portion of the large grassy areas just forward of where the temporary tents were. There are no Walk around the world tiles in the construction area (which I suppose means that you won't even have to worry about a table hiding your tile!)
:) :) :)

SafariSteve - than you so much for the information!!! I was really worried about our brick.
I sent you a PM.
