WDW Confusing Ticket Use Question

If we purchase a 3 day WDW ticket, can we use two of those tickets on the last day for two different parks - essentially making the last day a park hopper? Will the App let me reserve more than one park in a day with a 3 day WDW ticket?

No. You need a park hopper to visit more than one park in one day.

A three day ticket is a three day, one park per day ticket. Park Hopper, Water Parks and so on are the add-ons to extend a single-day single-park ticket. If you think of the name (three day) then it makes sense, since your scenario would be two days and three parks. It is not an uncommon question though.

Not sure whether the app is smart enough to know your ticket is not a park hopper. But you will not be able to enter the second theme park that day without first going to a ticket booth to choose one of:

1. Adding the hopping option (one time charge) , or,
2. Adding a newly bought new separate ticket, or,
3. Prioritizing for use a different ticket already on your Magic Band.
