WDW Commando Club

If you forget to bring the magic bands, your room key should work as well, since it has the same technology. You could also pull a regular fastpass if you do not use the magic bands. Just do not try to pull a regular fastpass whilst wearing a magic band or you may end up in Disney prison. My DH was held up by the "sheriff" for doing that at MK. We did not know it was not allowed. It is so unfair that fastpass plus only gets three, but others can pull many more. We only needed three at Epcot, HS and AK, but I would have liked six at MK.

Disney Prison. :lmao:

My dentist told me his story about one trip to WDW. His youngest daughter was throwing a tantrum and he was dealing her behavior so that his wife wouldn't have to. She and the other children went off towards a ride while he walked to sit down on a bench in the MK, holding his child. She started yelling, "I want my mommy". The Disney police descended upon him.

That is funny. I took the boys to the restroom while my DH was held up by the sheriff. He only told me that the line was long, and they were unfriendly. Those are the only details I know. It did take him forever to return though.

I wasn't exactly thrilled either, especially since the party directly in front of us walked in literally two seconds ahead of us. I saw them racing for the door, so I yielded to avoid a potential collision. The one ahead of him walked in while we were parking our stroller too. Had I gone in ahead of my DH, we would have been first (getting both open chairs with no wait). It only added about 10-15 minutes to our wait though, so it was not too bad. We were about 5 minutes early to our appointment as well, so when the walk ins (which I heard them both say they were) went back it was still just ahead of our appointment time. Of course, it was after our appointment time when a seat opened. We needed two, because my older son had an appointment as well. Even though we were passed up for walk ins, I still think booking an appt is the way to go. Have fun. We did.

I made an appointment on DDs birthday. We got the last available appointment of the day. I had to move one of my FP+ choices to accommodate and I'm sure I'll hear from DH about criss-crossing the park so much, but at least MK is relatively small when it comes to walking distances! The CM that I booked with was trying to talk me into buying tickets to MVMCP. I wasn't expecting that and certainly don't need the temptation! We did it last year and it was just too much for DD who refused to fall asleep in her stroller until we'd exited the park.

It will be worth it. We criss crossed the park for the appt too. I agree with your MVMCP. We did it a couple years back and did the Halloween parties at Dl and MK this year. While we had a great time, my DH makes us leave right after the fireworks. Until the kids are older, I probably will not do it again. My older one did fall asleep during the fireworks at MK. I picked the younger one up at of the stroller, so he can view them. Next thing, I knew the older one snuck in there and fell asleep.

We really like the MNSSHP and hope to get to a MVMCP. We don't buy a park ticket for the day of the party and day after. So, we have fun at the resort, stay at the party to midnight, and then sleep in the next day. The small lines and no wait times make it great. Our youngest dd was 5 when we did the first party, and we have been each year since.

My DH would still make us leave early even if we took the next day off. He does not believe in staying out late. We did nothing before MVMCP and only went to Blizzard Beach for less than three hours before MNSSHP. I preferred MNSSHP to MVMCP, so at least you've tried the better one.

I did not find the fastpass lines to be any longer than they were before fastpass plus. I think this is because they still give out the same number. My guess is if they give say 500 per hour, they would only give the difference of unused ones for a particular time when the day actually arrives. Meaning if they assign 300 to fastpass plus, only 200 would be available to pull the day of. I could be wrong, but I am guessing this is what they're doing.

I have a question about this new FP+, Since I'm big on park hopping, can I get FP+ for the park I would be in in the evening, and just use regular FP during the a.m. at another park:confused3 Or can you only pick during a certain time frame:confused3

For me anything before dinner is a breeze, it's the park after dinner that the FP+ could be handy, since most of the bigger rides would be out of FP's by the time we get there

Only if you do not wear your magic bands in the morning. If they see them, they will stop you. We got one for our regular card before he was stopped the second time, so I know it is possible. You do not want to be detained or turned away empty handed. My husband was told it was against the rules though, and he never breaks rules. As soon as he found out, he did not let us get anymore traditional fastpasses, despite my protest that it was unfair.

Just booked 4/23- 4/27 at Pop:cool1: Later I'll make my ADR's:banana:

Yay! That is just after Spring Break for us. My MIL wants to take a Spring Break trip but not to DISNEY. Everyone has a vote, but I will likely be outvoted. It would be awesome if we went to Disney then though. Have fun for me, since I have to wait until next December to return to WDW.

ADR's now booked only had 3, it's going to be extremely busy that week, so we will be touring overtime:scared1:, but darn it we will eat well:thumbsup2 our ADR's are

- 4/24 - 4:50 Ohana's

- 4/25 - 5pm Shula's

- 4/26 - 4:30 Teppen Edo

This is not a normal time for us to go, but when I threw in we were getting AP's , we all of a sudden have 4 trips in the works for the year:cool1:

Hey guys! I am trying to decide how I am going to go about getting two trips next year. I'd like a Cruise/WDW trip in late April/Early May and Then a long (10 or 11 day) trip in Nov. I need to figure out budgeting. Hmmmm, we shall see.

I hope you figure out the funds for your trips:goodvibes Let me know when your going, I will be there late April & Early Nov, maybe we will be there at the same time:confused3

I wonder how this is going to work, for our April trip we booked room only, as far as tickets we are going to get AP's when we get there. With that will we be able to escape the Magic Bands:scared:

There really were some benefits to Magic bands. They may still give them to you. Fastpass Plus can be modified the day you visit the park, so you can always add your selections after you manually link your APs to MDE. One CM even suggested we cancel our FP+ and go through the standby line one day, because the queue was empty. She said we could log into MDE and reschedule it into something else.

Or, you can add tickets now and upgrade them to APs when you get there. The lady warned us that upgrading tickets to APs had been creating problems for the Magic Bands, but they will hopefully have the kinks worked out by then. Good luck with no matter what your outcome is. I am sure you will have a great trip.

With the last couple weeks of Disney news, I'm really going to make a effort to opt out of the bands or at least the FP+, 2 of the 4 parks are now testing 2 different choices of groupings for the FP+, now some of these things I would never waste time to get a FP for:confused3, it just seems too controlling, I'm sure I can make more of my day Old School Commando Style::yes:::thumbsup2

:cheer2: 4 more days to go, 4 more days to go:cheer2:

Been sewing up a storm for the last month, so not much time to Dis, I'll post some pics of what i've been working on. I'll also try a small live trip report when I'm there.
